Are these Kena votes for real? I bought the game in the recent sale and what I've played so far seems fine but I count at least 6 games on that list I would rate higher. Having played through much more of the game, I now retract my previous statement as well as changing my FGGOTY (hmm that didn't acronymize very well) vote to Kena. |

It's seemingly more of a Sony first party linear title, if it's cloning any particular model. Open linear paths that loop around and open other areas as you progress, rather than's Zelda's open maps with locked areas that require use of new items. And the climbing is very Sony "you can hold onto this ledge that's highlighted, but not this ledge which is just scenery." It's almost (almost) God of War-lite in structure, but with a child friendly animated film vibe. |

I don't know, I suppose Kena is a contender if you have to settle for value brand Zelda because you don't own any recent Nintendo platforms.
In my opinion Okami is still the go to alternative option out there for PS2/PS3/PS4/PS5, especially if later versions have an option to skip quickly through the leisurely paced text.

Okami's a good call, as that's a game that's in my head a lot as I'm playing it. But again, it's less open than that (or Zelda). Okami, also Studio Ghibli's films, like Princess Mononoke, where it's lighthearted and charming, but also dually about nature restoration, loss and allowing spirits to move on.
