I got Resident Evil 8 for my girlfriend when it first came out and we're still playing through it. She's genuinely scared crazy by it and puts it off for months at a time. She wont play it alone and a single stint barely goes beyond half an hour. I have a clip of her head-shotting an enemy, screaming, pausing the game and launching our controller across the room all at the same time. Magical.
The bosses are a massive let down though. Just like 7. The rest of the game isn't half bad, but the bosses really bring things down. Fear becomes frustration, or in some cases just dull.

This year, it's undeniable that AAA gaming is dead to me. I'd rather read a book, watch TV or watch paint dry than play anything on that list.

I know the voting is closed now but resident evil 4 vr was the goty for me.
Hopefully they vr the lot of them and if GTA San Andreas vr is done right it could be gotd
