Don't think he appeared much in the comics or cartoon either

He does look like a reception desk bell. Are we sure he's called Cosmo and not something like Bell-end then?

So whilst the Decepticons are transforming into fighter jets and tanks, Optimal Pube's forces are throwing a fucking armadillo and a reception bell at them? How could they lose?

He distracted them as a sexy robot boob.

I thought he'd transformed into a landmine, which seems a bit foolish

I thought the reception bell was spot on. Decepticons come, tap Bellotron or whoever, then the good Autobots come and fuck shit up. Brilliant strategy.

Yeah I had Cosmos. Cosmos was one of the budget lines that cost about £3 and you’d get if one of your parents needed to bribe you for something. It was marginally better than a Go Bot.

I loved Cosmos as a kid, it was rare getting a medium or large sized Transformer so had to be happy with the cheapo ones, like Bumblebee

I only ever got mini Autobots (or Gobots) as a kid. It was a sad Decepticonless life...

I had those! Apart from the Optimus Primal I mentioned earlier in the thread, those were the only Transformers I owned. Happy Meal toys were the best.

I don't remember those McDonalds things at all. If they were 80's McDonalds wasn't even in my nearest city yet IIRC.

I had a Cherry Coke can transformer ripoff that I had to save twelvety thousand ringpulls to claim.
Ah happy 80s teeth-rotting memories. That's why I've got no fucking enamel left.

A lot of the original G1 toys looked crap when they turned into robots. The worst offenders were the ambulance and camper van (Ratchet and Ironside?) which just had windscreens for heads, and the jeep one, which looked cool as fuck as a jeep and then just a shit square thing with big tits as a robot. I remember someone had Ratchet or Ironside when I was a kid, and I was like, is this a fucking joke? Main difference with me was I wanted the toys but didn’t pay attention to the TV show. Kids with the shit ones bought the characters they liked from the show. I think probably the only G1 transformer that I owned, that I didn’t like, was Metroplex. Given Metroplex is a big deal for a lot of people, I guess it’s an indication that I only had the really good ones. Didn’t have Optimus either. When I saw that his hands just come off and you have to keep them somewhere, thought that was terrible. I think my favourite one was Cyclonus. The latest Cyclonus is also brilliant.

Not a proper transformer, but I remember having a robot that transformed into a boulder. I think there was a joke in Big about making a transformer that turned into a rock or something and it being a very boring idea.
I think it was the ones that win the most rubbish transformer ripoff award here, though I don't remember the name Rock Lords:

Yeah Rock Lords were truly shit. How did everyone end up with one at some point? They feel like the random toys they sell at the back of a newsagents next to a random collection of household tools.

Yeah I had a few Rock Lords. Never been a clearer indication that of a kid sees a TV advert on a Saturday morning they will want it, regardless of how stupid it is.
There was even a GoBot x Rock Lord film that was shown in cinemas. I think the only reason I remember going to see it was because after I saw it I got home and made a mad dive for the Argos catalogue (the insidious film had ignited my thirst for more Rock Lords) and I accidentally crashed into a cabinet which fell on me and gave me a dent in my head that is still there today.
Rock Lords sucked.

I fairness, I bet half of them were just rocks from the garden given out by even more stingy parents that the ones that gave out legit rock-lords. P.s. I love that rock Lords vs gobots film.
