Looks like Darth Vader is getting rid of a big spider on the ceiling

Right, let me get into this…
G1 Glavatron was probably the first thing I ever wanted in my life. Anyone who says he was shit can fight me.
Also, stop treating rock lords like they weren’t nothing. My dad took me to see a Rock Lord film at our local cinema! It got me so excited I got home and made a dive for the Argos catalogue so hard I smashed into a cabinet and gave myself a dent in my head that is still there to this day.
But disappointing Transformers, I had a few. But then again, too few to mention.
Except Tentakill, the starfish transformer. Or the battle-bot micro transformers that were fine in their own right… but all died in the first Uk transformer comic they featured in. All five taken out in a single blow by Skorponok. Heartbreaking.

There are so many. I’m not sure I can even be bothered to go back and change…

This one? It was another jumble sale purchase for us and we had no idea what it was for years Similar, the chamber looks the same but don't remember it being part of a ship.

If only you could have transformed into a rock at the last second. It seems stupid in principle but the benefits of being able to transform into a rock are endless

M.A.N.T.A. Force was pretty badass.
The big grey carrier ship with loads of little vehicles inside was a big favourite of mine.

Yeeeeeaaaaa I owned that fucker. I can't even start to imagine how bad the quality was. It's so much smaller than I remember (That's what she said etc)

I think I got this for free from a school friend who had "grown out" of Star Wars. It was a bit crappy. I seem to recall that in the earlier days there were cardboard models too like a Sandcrawler but I never saw those in the flesh.

We had both of those (the Red Venom and Manta Force)! They were ace.

The sheer range of ships within the ships beat any Tracy Island play set. And people who say Lego is the most painful thing to stand on never stepped on a fleet of manta force vehicles.

Also, I bought a loose G1 Shockwave from a school fete sale for about £1 once. It got sold in a over-zealous Mum jumble sale.
Fucking thing is worth about £200 now. Even without the box.

The only G1 Shockwaves I remember in the UK were dodgy market stall ones (Gretna Market) with a different name. Never saw an officially boxed one. My first Transformer was the barely remembered Cosmos IIRC. And yeah, the AT AT was cool and a decent size, I had one of those in the day.

Yeah, had three Rock lords as well, the gold walnut and grey spider (les bons) from the other page and also a green one...
And I had the same Shockwave experience and indeed still have a knock off one somewhere in the attic. I remember its legs fell off the first time it transformed...
I think my most disappointing one was a cheap plastic truck one that transformed into two planes, no robot mode...
Always wanted Trypticon, only ever saw one in the flesh when I was already about a decade too old for it...

Finally managed to identify my first ever Transformer Fizzle, that wheel between his legs caused sparks to shoot out his exhaust when in car form.

Does anyone remember Supernaturals? Vaguely "horror" themed toys with holograms in the chest of the figures. Had a pretty cool car toy. Now that I see it in the cold light of my late 30's it doesn't actually look as cool as I remember.

Like how Visionaires had? Very much so. I think Visionaries were more popular, but I did like the "spooky" Supernaturals. I'm going all Peter Kay and remembering things now. 'member Centurions?

Were they the bigger figures that you could attach parts to so a human man in a suit could become a bike or something?

They also look less cool now than I remember.

Absolutely not going to stand for the Transformers slander in this thread. Every single Transformer toy is a precious summer child to be loved and protected.
Except Beast Wars, they can do one.

I had a Megatron and an arm broke off on the first day. I was worried my mum would be angry because it was really expensive (by our standards) so I tried to hide it by glueing it back on. When she finally found out she was angry because we could have taken it back if I hadn't messed it up.
I also had a Battle Armour He-Man. What a shit thing that was.

First Star Wars toy I ever had was the cardboard sandcrawler and R2 and C3PO. Hadn't seen the film, but was taken with it in a toy shop when my gran came to visit. They couldn't dissuade me, and a lifelong love of shit Star Wars toys was born. My wife bought me it again for Xmas a couple of years back. It is pretty shitty, but it's also absolute nostalgia.

When I was about seven or eight, my dad got a job working away, and he lodged with this old lady whose son had grown up and moved out (this would have been very late eighties). As she knew my dad had a little boy, she would give him her son's old Star Wars toys to pass on to me (I do wonder if the son himself ever knew about this). So every time my dad would come home, he'd bring some Star Wars toys with him, and boy were they obscure.
I've got an Anakin Skywalker from Return of the Jedi - as in Sebastian Shaw, from the old theatrical cut, in his Jedi robes when he's a Force Ghost at the end of the film. I've got other random stuff too - an Emperor, his guards, stuff like that, toys I never bought myself. I've got a weird rubber Yoda glove puppet. I also had - HAD, past tense - a Rebel transport (that escapes Hoth) and a Darth Vader carrying case thing; a bust of Vader that opened up like a briefcase and you could put your figures in it. Unfortunately these last two things randomly disappeared; we think they were accidentally thrown out when we moved house in the early nineties.
Anyway, not a bad little haul.
