Changes it from more of a Dylan-esque protest song to a lament.

I was recently reminded of this masterful cover from a few years ago. It really captures the emotional depth of the song, particularly the chorus. Give it a listen if you haven't already, preferably with some good headphones or a decent speaker surround setup.
