Possibly a bit redundant as most people have already finished it but I have questions and might need to gush on occasion
Do the stone golem things and giant cyclops respawn? Just want to know whether I can remove the icons from the map or not

All enemies come back to life, there's an event that basically resets everything when it happens.

Also Lynels, which you might end up farming if you start upgrading things

I've only come across one of those. Got a picture of him and then ran off the side of the cliff to escape like a hero as he came at me but he got me with a lightning arrow through the side of the cliff he was on top of

They're pretty straightforward once you know the moveset, but they're really bloody durable so will need a stack of swords to down one

The Lightning Rod is great for stunning enemies and making them drop their weapons so you can snap them up and prevent them using them. If all else fails, run around and chuck bombs at everything
I've got a pretty decent sword collection
On the subject of durable enemies, I have taken out 2 bears using the bomb method (with some collateral deforestation). It's quite sad that my first instinct when seeing any wildlife in BotW is to bomb it

What do people do "post game" in BOTW? I absolutely loved it, but once I'd defeated the big bad at the end, that was it for me. I probably could have spent a few more hours finishing shrines I never got around to (including the infamous one on an island), but I hear about people spending hundreds of hours in it, and wonder how they're finding that much entertainment.

There are 120 shrines in total (plus a bunch of extra shrines for the DLC), as well as memories to find, minibosses to kill, sidequests, taking pictures etc., and just generally pootling about in the world and exploring as much of it as possible. That's without taking into account self-imposed challenges, like defeating Ganon without getting extra hearts or stamina. The game is certainly big and flexible enough to warrant hundreds of hours being spent on it tbh.

Finding all the koroks, doing the DLC, exploring bits you haven't been to, completing all the side quests etc.
I've done about 200 hours and could do some more easily.

Yeah, I probably should grab the DLC at some point. Maybe if it ever goes on sale- although Nintendo being Nintendo I could be waiting a while.
I wasn't bothered with the korok seeds, but finding and finishing all the shrines could be quite a time sink, wonder how many I've done just from a normal playthrough. I doubt it's anywhere near 120.

I think I got it on sale, judging by deku deals it's probably a few weeks away from the next 45% discount

including the infamous one on an island Is that Eventide or a different one? I've done that one, wasn't too bad (died once and had to redo the whole thing though)

Must have taken half an hour at least, but his little face when the beast keeled over!

The DLC is fantastic, not just for the additional quests (loved doing those and getting the armour sets) but also handy stuff like the Hero's Path. Defo pick it up on sale if you get the urge to have a blast on the game again.

Not sure what it's called. But I remember failing it a couple of times and deciding to come back later- but I never did.

Just checked, and I have completed... 66 shrines. I'm actually pretty stunned- looking at the map, I'd have guessed there was space for about 20 more in the bits that don't already have one- but 54?? Fair enough, there's plenty still to do, DLC or not.

Some shrines are very well hidden, and some others have quests linked to them where you have to solve a riddle to make the shrine appear.

You have to do it in your pants I killed an enemy today hitting it with the return arc of the large boomerang and then caught it. Game is great. It's not a weapon I'd have probably bothered with if they didn't break Spent some time doing the cooking to get myself tooled up for the Lynel fight (only got 8 hearts) so I'm going to do that next. Got elixers for increased damage, defense and full heal plus 10+ hearts. A double axe, couple of two hander swords, spears and plenty of elemental arrows. Plus 4 fairies just in case

There's a couple of awesome spots for durian. Just three of those should get you a max hearts dish. They grow faster than the global reset but I tended to wait for that and then immediately go harvest another batch

Hearty Durians cook 1 on its own for a full hearts meal. Basically farm them mofos.

My son just told me there's a way around losing all your equipment, if you want to try again: Land in the sea near the island and drop equipment before reaching the beach; these will still be there when the challenge begins... However, there's a catch: before finishing the challenge, you should drop these extra items, because you will lose them along with the island ones. I haven't checked it myself, but there you go

I doubt I'll do much farming to be honest. I've gathered more than enough stuff to make all sorts of things and it's fun to experiment with recipes. I'm not a fan of farming anyway and I'd rather make do with what I find along the way - the game is huge!

My pro Lynel strategy: hang-glide over it, shoot it in the face with arrows 5 times in slow motion. Then when it is stunned, continue shooting in face until dead.
I guess sometimes I used the heavy weapon spinny attack too, but only if the face shooting didn't work

That's my lynel strategy too, the spammer strat. Once you get a lynel x3 or x5 bow it's even easier. Although I usually run at them with a horse and jump off to get the slo-mo shots in at first.

I kinda just learned the timings until it got to a point in which they couldn't touch me. Then I played Master Mode and all those timings are thrown out the window with randomised animation speeds. Ooph.
