Also, quick resume seems to work just fine. Doesn't work for me. Restarts every time. In the Quick resume section of my library the Forza 5 tile says "coming soon". I was wondering if there was something I was supposed to do to get it to work as I don't think I've seen quick resume work once yet since owning the console.

Yeah, QR just dumped me back to the main menu the one time I used it, so only saved me from a few seconds of splash screens.
Not that it's slow to get back into it from the main menu of course...

After a couple more crashes, I nuked out my save data and the reserved space and I got in: what a blast! Grinning like a fool while playing the intro. It's quite a step-up from driving the Corrado in the original… I don't think I want to go back to 4 to nab the last two roads now!

Tried a seasonal sprint championship and after eventually finding the third leg of it (the map REALLY starts to get full!) Damn, that's a bit disappointing. I'd have thought someone at Playground Games would have playtested FH4 and realised it's not a good experience to throw an exponentially increasing amount of events onto the map. I quickly felt like I was drowning, with no idea as to the advantages / disadvantages of tackling which events in which order, and was left absolutely clueless as to my general progression. I'm confused even now, with seasonal playlists (whatever they are) and tons of different race types, all of which I'm part way though... but I've no idea how far through, or which types of car are best for each one. I'm still really looking forward to playing FH5, and I know you're just meant to throw yourself into the game and have fun doing whatever, but following rules and focusing on goals is intrinsic to any game, and I was just left a little unsatisfied by FH4, despite the wealth of content and the obvious amounts of hard work that were put into the game. Aye, I always did my favourites first (Cross-country, off-road etc) and then ended up with all the drifts and stories left to mop up

I was going to ask how the fuck somebody is level 152 already, but spied they have an Xbox tag. Still, somebody unrelated is level 90.
Good to see user RedSparrows is active out there. Maybe you’re here on FG too?

I haven't even checked my level yet, but just hooning across the landscape at full speed gets you a maxed multiplier and 20,000+ points in no time (before you smash into a rock and ruin it), which is good for a few levels.

It's out on the 9th for free users. You'll need to purchase the VIP pass to get it today. (or the premium upgrade bundle that includes DLC) Oh. That is some serious bullshit!

My common sense is saying wait for the Game Pass release on the 9th and spend no money up front but the impatient self-gratification reptile in me is urging me to buy the Ultimate & VIP upgrade pack now.
I have a free weekend, could do with something new to play and definitely something that is properly next gen to put the new Series X through it's paces, all I've played on the X so far is last gen stuff.
On the other hand, racing games aren't my usual bag, haven't played any since Drive Club on PS4 and the one before that was PGR on the 360. Really enjoyed both of those and played them a lot while they lasted.
£30 if i use some Reward Points. Do it?

The ultimate/VIP content will still be there once you've played through a lot of the base game has to offer, and by then you'll have more Rewards points.

I got it because I felt like having something new to play this weekend, and I'd buy the expansions regardless. Haven't regretted my decision so far. askew - yeah, that's pushing me to do more off road stuff, which I don't usually bother with. Great fun to drive!

Yeah my brother texted me at one in the morning saying "Forza Horizon 5 is spectacular" and I got excited thinking I'd mixed up the dates. Nope, turns out he'd bought the VIP pack, the sod.

Can you just buy the season pass and get access to the game now? Or do you have to buy the deluxe version whatever (the base game and the dlc in one)?
Cos yeah I'll buy the season pass as I would buy it anyway

It is impatience on my part, but I did really enjoy the expansions in FH4 and they've generally been really good across the life of the series so it's a safe bet. Kinda makes a mockery of the value of GamePass, but that's entirely on me and I will have the car packs and 2xDLC to show for it. #PartOfTheProblem

Came to FH4 late through Game Pass. Never bought the expansions as the map still has masses left to do, but tempted this time. Playing it from launch I'll likely get through a lot more of the core by the time they come out. Like others, have a basically clear weekend and it does look spectacular.

Nice!
That particular female avatar is probably the least shit looking out of a very shit looking bunch. Picked the same one and put her in the chicken suit as soon as I unlocked it, which will do me for the rest of the game.

The Premium Upgrade is 10% off and I've nothing much to do this weekend, or this evening. Like I needed convincing. That's a no-brainer, I'm coming to Mexico.

Quite a few of the male heads had a 'Jack Nicholson as the Joker but without his makeup on' sorta vibe. Bit unsettling. Anyone setting up a club?

As mentioned above, the Horizon games are fantastic, 4 was sublime I'm still playing it most evenings, there's no chance I wasn't going to buy both expansions anyway. Buy them now and it's 10% off plus early access and this is the game to make the Series X and CX (that I only 5 months ago spent £2000 on) sing.

No worries, I would be doing the same, but yesterday’s DF video put me off it, and I can’t get through the main game before losing interest, let alone the expansions.
