You know you can set your status to "appear offline", right?

Very much looking forward to this - we’ll have to do online adventures like we did on FH3!

Well, your colleague shouldn't be online themselves, right?

You know you can set your status to "appear offline", right? But how to do that before you appear online for 30 seconds? Way back at the dawn of time on the day the original Xbox Live Beta was switched on, I remember pulling a sickie so I could get my game on. There was some MotoGP XBL game or other, and I was enjoying a really good race against someone when I realised it was my co-worker. Who had also pulled a sickie. The code of silence has been obeyed to this day.

Still a bit too new to even consider it tbh. I've used appear offline feature on a full day of back to back pointless meetings in the past, though.

Can anyone who has changed region to NZ say how the quality vs performance modes feel? Am quite curious.

Review reads like I was expecting it too from the previews. Really surprised there is no mention at all of the new handling model though. Supposedly it's been completely reworked, allows for a more "sim" driving experience if you want it, makes the cars actually feel noticeably different, and can finally be played properly with a wheel. For a review of a driving game not to mention how the driving feels (when it's different to the previous versions) seems like an oversight.

Can anyone who has changed region to NZ say how the quality vs performance modes feel? Am quite curious. Review embargo is up, so hopefully DF will have something imminently. I just went straight for performance, as I vaguely recall hearing it was just a resolution and frame rate change between the two settings. It looks great so far anyway, if a little jaggy in places. Just realised that I never even bothered preloading on PC for some reason, so a hefty download before I can try that out.

I bought the add on pack like a big sucker because I would have 100% bought this if not for Gamepass.
I've never bought any DLC for any of the previous Forza games as they're already so jam packed. Still I'm looking forward to it, even if I have just gotten into the Forgotten City in the last couple of days.

mikew1985 - DLC is all well worth a play. New areas to explore and it usually comes along when you've had enough of the main content (I tend to burn through games like this in a few weeks and move on) Nice to know that I'll have access to them as soon as they launch. I'm hoping this is a posterchild for quick resume. Didn't have time to finish what I was in the middle of at lunch, so presumably I can just turn the Xbox back on and rewind for a few seconds and carry on.

This a bit crash-y for anyone else, on PC? Crashed 3 times to desktop for me so far.
Edit* Seems to be alright now after changing some settings, turned off Nvidia overlay just in case.
Edit*Nevermind, crashed again. I'm just gonna keep quiet.

It's a bit swish. I was trying the big jump at the end of a runway that throws you out over a river - La Selva area I think. Was quite impressed and then my youngest got me to tune the old Supra.... went from a 2 star jump of around 1700 ft to 2700 ft... and an easy 3 stars. Smart arse.

Tried a seasonal sprint championship and after eventually finding the third leg of it (the map REALLY starts to get full!) it asked if I was sure I wanted to lose my progress... Just given up on doing those for now. Also got gifted a car but can't seem to find the barn find it was telling me to go to to collect it any more. (not that I need any more cars already...)
Fast travel is as much of a pain in the arse as always at the start... I'm tempted to get the treasure map and just grab all of the billboards straight away (presuming it unlocks fast travel anywhere)
Overall though it's exactly what I expected it to be... Good fun and it'll keep me entertained for a while.
The map feels very open compared to 4. Tried a couple of BR games and did terribly because my finding a hiding spot at the edge tactic didn't seem to work when everything is in plain sight.

It's out on the 9th for free users. You'll need to purchase the VIP pass to get it today. (or the premium upgrade bundle that includes DLC)

It’s only out today if you have the premium addition or pre-buy the DLC premium upgrade pack thing (£36).

Hmm, well that's a good start. Crashed back to dash (x2) after navigating the splash menu on my Series S. I'm guessing it's the console, since it's been flaky as fuck since I bought it.

I have to say I'm loving it so far. XS isn't quite as good a listen as it was in 4, but it's growing on me. Looking forward to getting back in later. Also, quick resume seems to work just fine. It didn't even seem to care when I moved back to the UK from NZ and just carried on as if nothing had happened.

Fast travel is as much of a pain in the arse as always at the start... I'm tempted to get the treasure map and just grab all of the billboards straight away (presuming it unlocks fast travel anywhere) Collecting the fast travel boards gets you discounted fast travel. You'll only be able to fast travel to festival sites and houses you own until you buy the house Buenas Vistas for 2 million that comes with the fast travel anywhere perk.

Tried a seasonal sprint championship and after eventually finding the third leg of it (the map REALLY starts to get full!) Damn, that's a bit disappointing. I'd have thought someone at Playground Games would have playtested FH4 and realised it's not a good experience to throw an exponentially increasing amount of events onto the map. I quickly felt like I was drowning, with no idea as to the advantages / disadvantages of tackling which events in which order, and was left absolutely clueless as to my general progression. I'm confused even now, with seasonal playlists (whatever they are) and tons of different race types, all of which I'm part way though... but I've no idea how far through, or which types of car are best for each one. I'm still really looking forward to playing FH5, and I know you're just meant to throw yourself into the game and have fun doing whatever, but following rules and focusing on goals is intrinsic to any game, and I was just left a little unsatisfied by FH4, despite the wealth of content and the obvious amounts of hard work that were put into the game.
