Given Max Payne 3 was released 10 years ago I'm surprised it's taken them this long to announce anything as it seems so obvious. The gameplay/graphics of 3 and the writing of MP 1&2 is surely a licence to print money.

Yeah, there's some great stuff they could do with a new ED.
Ghosting to fuck with the OLED owners. Your storage is corrupt and needs to be repaired. Controller batteries low. Surround sound coming out of the wrong speakers....

Silent Hill 1-3 Would settle for decent remasters of 2 and 3 as they still look really good
And Code Veronica - it's the only one I haven't played and I can't be arsed with emulation
What Rhaegyr said, it's an absolute slog of a game it's aged badly with some terrible mechanics behind it as well as the constant backtracking and I'm not surprised it hasn't been remade or remastered as a) it's clear Capcom are linking all the remade and current Resi games with a consistent tone, although I don't know how Resi 4 will fit and B) CV was not a popular game so why would they bother? I'll exchange it for a rejiggle of RE0 that adds in item boxes then. I'm planning a replay through the series (in no order in particular) and that and 6 are the only ones I'm iffy on. I remember liking 0 apart from that one aspect |

Actually, although the Sands of Time remake looked a bit off, I'd definitely love a remaster of that game. I have actually realised that the main reason I want remakes/remasters of my favorite games is so that I can persuade my kids to play them and they won't bounce off in the first 5 minutes. Sands of Time for now. Max Payne 1+2 and Eternal Darkness are good shouts too though, but more for me or when they're older. Those 3 all feel like games that wouldn't need many gameplay/mechanics tweaks and the update would be almost entirely graphical. In which case, also Thief 1+2 Isn't that Tomb Raider Anniversary? (Which I'm currently playing). Though that's much more of a remake than a remaster. I think it's getting a remaster of the remake at some point though. |

Definitely don't disagree though. Started it recently and on the first level after the tutorial it felt pretty hard to tell where the bland environment ended and enemies began.

Actually I'd also be quite intrigued to see a couple of Peter Molyneux games updated: Populous and Black & White. I guess they'd seem hugely simplistic now but they were both hugely impressive at the time.

I'm pretty sure I've already mentioned Phantasy Star earlier in this thread. Like just a new entry in the original Genesis/Mega Drive series, rather than a bunch of online titles. That'd be a more serious request I guess.

I’ve been playing it the past few weeks - doing a bunch of missions while I’ve got dinner in the oven. It’s as janky as it always was, but there’s something therapeutic about flying around helping people out. Or accidentally landing on people and having to take them to hospital…

Isn't Claire the CV protag? Given the popularity of REmake 2, I'm sure there'd be some interest in CV

Yeah it's pretty an open secret that Resi 4 is being remade. It was brought in house over a year ago. CV is a no go, it just wasn't or isn't popular enough to warrant a remake.

I wonder if they'll do 5 after. Not sure why people were so against it (I seem to recall that being the case). It's pretty much a copy of RE4. I would quite like a new entry with Sheva or Moira as protagonists. Like both characters a lot

Yeah, I never really understood how the same people who championed 4 hated 5. It's the same game but improved in every way. Smoother controls, co-op, more interesting characters, an AI partner that actually helps rather than hinders. It gets accused of turning RE into an over the top action game, but 4 is the one that did that first. Leon flipping through windows and spin kicking Las Plagas.
