I never thought I'd see the day when I'd praise Konami while simultaneously criticising Rockstar, but here goes nothin': I'm much more excited about the forthcoming Metal Gear compilation than the Red Dead cash-grab.
1080p60 on everything but the Switch, which is 1080p30 docked and 720p30 portable. For PS2 and PS1 titles. Uly!!

@spookyxelectric
I'm on PS5, so I don't ca--
Kidding! I'm kidding.
Yeah, I'm getting ready to eat my words on this front - the Master Collection is shaping up to be a spectacularly low-effort affair, despite my previous positivity. Why I expected anything else from Konami, I've no idea.

That's the "target" for all non-Switch platforms, according to Konami. Their wording doesn't fill me with confidence!

Lol 1080p on a Series X/PS5. They really are lazy as fuck.

4K30 on PlayStation and 1080p30 on Switch, I think RDR is fine. It’s MGS I have issues with.

I think they're both piss poor tbh. Rockstar have become increasingly cynical in their output and Konami are Konami.

More Nightdive stuff enroute I see. Dark Forces and Turok 3. Quite interested in both. They're definitely the best team when it comes to updating and releasing old games. Don't think thye've really put much of a step wrong barring Blade Runner.
I do still want a bloody update on the console release of System Shock mind you, but I'm quite chuffed that Dark Forces is getting done.

If Dark Forces is followed up by Jedi Knight consider me interested. I may bite for DF, but JK and expansion would be great as the best game in the series by far.

Was Turok 3 the multiplayer game?

Was Turok 3 the multiplayer game? That was Turok: Rage Wars which came out between 2 and 3.

I loved Turok: Rage Wars back in the day. It was nothing like the other games, even thematically, but there was a lot of content and even single player challenges.

I personally just don't think Ninja Theory are very good at making games
Wow, that is quite the statement. I know its a personal view, but I couldn't disagree with you more.
Enslaved and DmC were both excellent, as is Hellblade.
You have to remember that Ninja Theory were not a big studio, the games were made by a relatively modest sized team. It will be interesting to see what the next Hellblade is like, with the financial backing of Microsoft.

It can't be a coincidence that DMC is the one game in the series that has essentially been scrubbed from history.

I don't think you need to be a rabid fanboy to think the new design and general tone of the game were crap If they remade Enslaved, they could add some decent gameplay I personally just don't think Ninja Theory are very good at making games One of the few things we agree on. Style over substance exemplified. I do think DmC is the best thing they've done though - that TV boss/stage was incredible.

Is Dark Forces some kind of remaster / remake, or just running on modern sstems, cos I thought it ran fine on Dosbox anyway.
Actually... I'll google it myself. It's basically the original game upscaled, with what looks like improved mouselook.
Tbh, as much as I enjoyed Dark Forces at the time, i doubt I'd play it again now.
But as One_Vurfed_Gwrx says, if they do Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith *then* I'd be interested. Best single player FPS of all time imho.
That said, there is already a Jedi Knight open source engine and remastered mod, so I'm currently playing Jedi Knight in high res, with improved weapon effects and higher poly enemies. It is a pain in the ass to install though, with false virus warnings etc... so having a handy reliable way to do it would be nice.

The gameplay in all of their games (apart from DmC Devil May Cry, which they had pre existing combat system to heavily draw from) is shallow. They're known for their presentation, which I don't personally like. Andy Serkis has got an annoying face. Every one of their games gets criticism for the gameplay, apart from DmC, which got it for its presentation (and they fucked up the gameplay a bit too)
Just not a good game design studio

The Devil May Cry series is primarily about feeling cool while playing the game, I don't think there was any point in the game where I felt that specific feeling. The interpretation of Dante felt very forced and just very unlikeable. I can't fully put all of that on NT but with something like Heavenly Sword, once I got past the "wow, GRAFIX!" stage it felt very shallow as AA and that last boss was incredibly cheap and unsatisfying.

Dante was suppose to be a douche though in the beginning, he slowly became more endearing as the game progressed. He was certainly a decisive character though, although you can find just as many people who liked his character as those that didn't.

If they remade Silent Hill 1, I wonder how they'd approach the section that has you shooting kids in a school

Some sort of all-Sega RPG, like Kingdom Hearts but with Sega characters. So Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, the car from Daytona etc.

Role-players MegaMix in essence.
Fuck, I just want a new Phantasy Star. Like, OG Mega Drive Phantasy Star, not Online or Universe.

Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 remake by Larian (ground up) would be awesome! (Personally having completed 1 (Beamdog remake on PC) but never completed 2 - got about 10 or so hrs in only afaicr).
I would like them to keep the OG core story and characters but other than that just go wild with them and make them the best games they can be like with 3…

Man, the writing in Metal Gear Solid [1] is really clunky, huh? I get that English isn't Kojima's first language, but even so!
On a separate-but-related note, I know there has recently been some talk about the disclaimer Konami has added to the forthcoming MGS ports, but I kinda get why they did it.
