I have given up on wholemeal muesli though. Cracked a tooth good & proper on that many years ago. Healthy stuff can be bad for you, who knew!

My Grandad used to make his own muesli. Tasted like the mix you were about to use to brew moonshine. Weird because he was a great (if very simple) cook otherwise

Actually, thinking about it more, he was a great baker. Other cookery was limited to amazing cheese, tomato and mushrooms on toast, great stew, and a cracking bacon sarnie. Nothing else really.
That man did incredible bread and cakes though. I miss him.

I've bought a vortex thing for my Kettle BBQ and used it to cook up some chicken pieces like this:  Turned out really good, real juicy, pulled off the bone but with a crispy skin. Best chicken I've got off the BBQ that's for sure. It was almost worth it just for the ability to organise the meat uniformly around the fire. But yeah it was a winner for chicken, I can't imagine a better way to do an indirect hot and fast cook when you're working with multiple pieces of meat. I really want to use it inverted next with a whole bird in the middle. |

Well how about a proper un-americanised Taco, don't mind tex mex (well actually I do) but an actual Mexican recipe with its absolute gigantic garden of choice where each region has its own version of Tacos.
My choice is Birria as a Taco (aka Tacos de Chivo Birria but I do it with half brisket half short rib and all the soft fat... Nom. also that consomme to dip into. Nom Nom slurp)...
Or Tacos de Suadero... Or Tacos al Pastor (though I sub the meat here).
Or Tacos de suadero,
Or use the Tacos in Chilaquilas.
Or just go Tacos de Canasta. Finally there is always Guisado.
Most of these with TaquerÃa Style Salsa and Salsa Verde made with fresh (or canned) tomatillos.
Oh, how could I forget my other favourite, Pescado.
