I do love Talisman, but as far as I'm concerned the game ends when someone reaches the Crown of Command first. I've played games with the standard rules that have gone for another 2 hours after it should have ended and everyone just ends up praying for death (in the game!).

Emperor help me, I just purchased the same battle force plus the new Combat Patrol, a Chaos Black primer and a new spraying stick. Plus the GS Cult and Sisters codex. What a f*ckwit I am!

Not sure if this has been covered but but John Blanche is on kickstarter releasing a set of miniatures based on his art now he's retired.

I don't Warhammer nowadays but JB blew my tiny mind with Amazon Gothique way back when and his art was a massive influence on me so I'm on board.

Tbh, Ted is the only one that looks a bit shit. The other three and the rest of the examples you instantly recognise.
Anyhoo, took a gamble on some Bestiarum 3d prints from a third party printer, only-games.co. Whose reputation I only found out afterwards was in the absolute gutter - late, missing bits, given up, chasing refunds etc. But they came through, about a month all in, so on par with average Etsy printer, and turning Lion into DG Warlord project can commence ! Huzzah !
I'm also slowly being seduced by Trench Crusade, along with a few grimdark painters I've noticed. Anyone else interested or tempted to make a little warband ?

  Having a mare tonight and have put it all away. My target was base, face, capes today. Quite pleased with base and capes (above) but the face is battering me. I was quite happy with the idea of pupil-less white eyes, but it’s almost like the (from viewing side) right eye is either scrappy sculpted or like I’ve got a slight misculpt. I can drop it in absolutely fine on the left. Doing my absolute box in. |

Without a kitbash, not possible. It’s the Captain from Leviathan. I usually just shade the eyes and may yet do so but for a proper character I feel it’s a bridge that needs crossing. Have had a look at it and now wonder if I’m interpreting the right bit as an eyeball! |

What I’ve ended up doing this morning is just simplifying everything.
Bugman’s Glow, Reikland Flesh shade in the recesses, darkened the mouth and eye sockets with Agrax. Highlighted up a bit with Cadian Flesh.
The shadows suggest eyes and even on the Eavy Metal example you only see whites if you zoom the screen in.
I get the hyper/beyond real approach to detail to make things stand out but these heads are smaller than a pea - there comes a point when it can get a bit silly.
Plus the Eavy Metal style of highlighting faces can sometimes look a bit wrong anyway on close inspection.
The main thing is I can’t do it of course 😂
