Apparently due a delivery from Hachette partworks today. Presumably from the Combat Patrol subscription that’s not gone anywhere yet. I thought they never actually sent anything out on those pre reg subscriptions?
Mystery Warhammer, very exciting….

Which CPs are in it? I remember Orks being in it - it might be the last place to get the old combat patrols that have been downgraded.

Right, after advice on a possibly niche subject.
Has anybody lit their Warhammer display - or any other collection for that matter?
It seems like a real minefield. I’ve seen people using dedicated under counter lighting from IKEA a lot - pricing this up it’d cost me around £130 to light four shelves - and I’m not completely sold on the brightness either.
I’ve seen Spiky Bits doing it by just adhering a run of LED strip. This looks a little inelegant and might be limited in terms of which way the light is cast I’d think?
I’ve seen others still using those diffuser channels you can buy and daisychaining LED strip inserts through the channels.
I’m thinking the latter is the way to go. I can’t decide between 4.5 and 6K lights. It’s then sourcing drivers and possibly controllers and all that gubbins.
I’m after recommendations on anybody’s real world solutions, and hoping at least a couple of you have done it. Also after recommendations on white temperature. When I photograph my models I think I’m usually using settings closer to 6K on my lighting, but I don’t know if just for viewing on a shelf you’d want something a little warmer to avoid fatigue.
Help please!
EDIT - I’ve just bit the bullet and ordered some bright 6K strips, an adaptor and some series connectors including corners. I’m going to try this before I look at more involved stuff like diffusers.
So my ideas is to basically outline the top of each shelf along each four edges, running the series bridges vertically on one side to the power socket.
Time will tell whether I get the dreaded voltage drop from this series solution but I cannot find an idiot’s guide to parallel wiring at all.
If this doesn’t work its cost me about 20 quid. Still interested in any real world experience out there, if there is any.

Just wanted to mention that I think it's a good choice to have gone with the whiter light. You don't want colors to look off.

I'd love to think my painting was good enough to invest in display. Tabletop's good enough for me.
Currently stuck waiting for a risky order from a 3d printing firm with a terrible rep, fingers crossed, need it for this Lion/DG warlord idea, and snagged thon new KT Squats/GSC box. That'll be enough incentive to get the Squats I already have closer to paint.

That'll be enough incentive to get the Squats I already have closer to paint. Well it took me a bit of searching to find some but I think your painting looks plenty good enough to put them out FWIW. My perspective is that I don’t want to spend all this money and time on cool models to put them away in boxes. They are only in the spare bedroom too, so it’s not like they are being advertised to the public - it’s just for me and it makes me happy seeing them painted up - also seeing the odd model that just has primer amongst the neatness of the display is a constant motivator because I can’t have that 😂 Edit - this may be coloured by the fact I don’t actually currently play - so this is the hobby for me. Maybe if I was playing a game or two a week I wouldn’t want to keep moving them!

Just threw this together, sorry couldn’t resist putting a cheesy soundtrack to it 😂
The lights are bang on for brightness and colour. This isn’t how I want things leaving though, as I need to use a drill, hide the wiring etc and I’m also not 100 per cent sold on the layout yet. Also need to find a way to switch these on and off that doesn’t involve physically removing the plug.

Youtube's compression algorithm sucks so much. I only get HD from 16 seconds into the video. Anyway, it's really cool. As for the switch on and off thing, maybe just get a multiplug power thingie with a switch?
What's the song, btw. Sounds great.

Power suggestion is what I thought I was doing, the switches don’t seem to have any effect lol. The song is just some licence free thing called ‘Heavy Cyberpunk Metal’ from a website called Pixabay.

Oh, a book - crusade - Tyrannical war or something. Apparently it’s a section from the main rule book if you bought Leviathan, so I already have it. Not very exciting at all!

Just threw this together, sorry couldn’t resist putting a cheesy soundtrack to it 😂 AWESOME! Suggestions: (1) can you find something to neatly fill the holes in the side walls? (2) could you get some strips of laminate that you put on the front face, slightly wider than the shelves to hide the edges of the light strips? Pie in the sky maybe but it looks excellent as is well done

Oh do watch out for that shit, they like to spring additional costs like art books, binders and such on you that you have to opt out of via EXTREMELY tiny small print

Yeah I have some experience with part works, with Eaglemoss and with DeAgostini. Both were excellent products (one was a collection of DC books, the other a blues LP subscription). The DC had all sorts of upsells and just kept getting extended and extended, I was buying bookshelves just to keep all these books I’d never have the chance to read. Cancelling was made really difficult too, you can never do it online. nexus6Thank you. There’s all sorts you can do - some people buy diffuser channels to hide the light, which can also decrease the glare of looking directly at the dots - probably at the expense of a little brightness. The side holes could be covered yeah but honestly they don’t bother me too much. Any covering would need to be easily removable as that’s how you adjust the shelf size. It was really just a test to see if that kind of light source was good enough and it honestly exceeded expectations in both light and colour representation. Doing the lights is a minefield. This a temporary stop gap and when the collection is fully painted I will be replacing the case with a proper Billy, possibly with the Hogbo doors - this is an Argos knockoff. I think I’ll possibly do some more detail when that’s done but I’m posting a bit much here at the mo anyway so will leave it there for now. Excited for tomorrow’s pre-orders, I can’t remember who the Sisters collector here is but if you’re reading good luck getting the battle box, think I’m going to try myself.

I want a Space Wolf game.
One where you play through the entire life of one guy, starting as a Fenrisian native, surviving the trials out in the frozen wastes, then moving up through Scout, Blood Claw, Grey Hunter, Wolf Guard, and then maybe even a Wolf Lord.

Go to 1:40ish in this trailer from the Skulls event - Plague Marines are definitely an option for multiplayer, at least.

Order confirmed for Sisters army of faith… should give me pretty much everything other than a couple of rhinos and some arco flagellants (who I’m not fussed on). Oh and the battle cannon battle tank whatever that’s called.

Not the same classic gameplay then If they can actually pull that off then I'll be quite excited.
