Where’s your flocking material from Fork? Looks very similar to mine. Do you seal it? I’ve found that invaluable, although it does turn the static grass a bit blue sometimes!

It's this stuff from Geek Gaming Scenics: www.geekgamingscenics.com/products/base-ready-taiga-hillsideI don't bother being fancy for the rank and flank units, I just stick it on with PVA and leave it to dry to be honest. It'll probably fall out in a few years but that's a problem for future me to deal with (he's an even bigger idiot than me, the fool).

They’re really quite amazing. Spectacular work.
I like to use Flesh Tearer’s as a tint too, any of my red claws are that over black, but I then highlight up with reds and oranges.
Hadn’t considered that it would tint the highlights as well!
I guess it’s like a fancy form of Zenithal. Bit Heston Blumenthal that!

ForkHandlesAh yep, I use Geek Gaming too, mine’s Plains of New Zealand. Their matte sealant spray is really good, although I don’t use it as a spray because I base with the models on the base and sprinkle. So instead I load a brush up with the sealant and it wicks through with a capillary action. It does dry very quite hard although it takes away from the look a smidge so yours are more vibrant. A trade off like most things in life.

Thanks very much for the comments :-) Storage solution: cheap plastic box and self adhesive magnetised rubber sheets

Created by my one IRL Warhammer friend. Trying to convince him to set up an Etsy shop. He’ll do anything to avoid painting! This is designed to field a 1000 points game. How cool is this?!

He'd clear those faster than he could make them. Would work for heaps of systems, not just Wurr'ammer

Yeah that's very impressive, and as Danno says infinitely marketable

I’m having a mare building a Deathleaper. I may end up binning it as the glue damage is quite severe.
Before anyone asks, no I’m not using Tamiya and no I’m certainly not using Citadel!
I’m using a Revell Contacta which I picked because I trusted Revell and it had a needle applicator.
Is the stuff trash? Do I just need to bite the bullet and get the Tamiya?
It’s a horrifying kit to build either way I suspect.

Revell has been fine for me, although I prefer Citadel because it doesn't run as much, you can stand the bottle upright and the needle doesn't clog as easily

Wonder if it’s just trendy to hate then.

It's overpriced, but that's my only complaint.

Nowt wrong with Humbrol and an old brush/cocktail sticks. Basic poly cement should be pretty generic.

Tamiya extra thin. Why use anything else?

Spent an hour reviving my paints (my arm is fucked from shaking pots, 14 year old me would have breezed through that)
Final death toll is Ceramite White, Corax White, 2 x Averland Sunset, Armageddon Dust (which became a weird putty) and maybe a Rakarth Flesh (I have two pots and the colours are really different to each other). My Vallejo whites and yellows are fine, so droppers it is.

Tamiya extra thin. Why use anything else? Because sometimes a dollop of thick cement is more suitable for overgluing and trimming/sanding after to gap fill or ensure a good melty weld, eg Skitarii cloaks from recent endeavours. I wouldn't use TET on a Rhino, or the waist joint of a Knight for example. Same reason I wouldn't use sellotape on something needing duct tape.

I haven’t made many GW models but have always found you can get a good melty joint from extra thin too.
And there’s always the standard Tamiya cement too if extra thin isn’t working

I managed to get it done in the end. I think with fiddly builds I need to be more patient and let stuff properly dry instead of trying to build it in one or two sessions. Half of the problem was that it had awkward angles, the other half were parts such as individual dewclaws the size of half a rice crispie, and the other half was parts being knocked off because I was trying to rush and glue was just clearly not bonded yet
Have managed to build and prime an Exocrine, Tervigon and the Deathleaper since Thursday anyway, when I finally paint it all, I’ll have about 3,300 points of Tyranids. My spray can juuuuuust about held up to it, but I won’t be buying any more Tyranids for a while now.
Also, my Citadel paint stick thing’s handle broke off this weekend. Unsure whether to buy another or just get a wooden spoon or something. I used a stirring stick a decorator had left behind for a long time but my Mrs threw it away.

Mine doesn’t look quite like that but yeah. The elastic bands are useless but the design I had was quite a wide, stable base with vents underneath which was really handy for spraying the underside. I did just use it with blue tack

Just picked up a few bits from Warhammer in York. It’s surprising how little stock the actual flagship shops have isn’t it?
Anyway I got some replacements for a couple of dried out pots and have got some stuff for Ork flesh.
So Ork people, what are you priming them with? I probably wanna either settle on Goffs or Bad Moons, and I’m not sure if you are allowed to mix them. If they’d ever release the codex that might help!

Did you get the freebie Terminator?
I had 2 Wardogs, some more PMs and a spray due today. DHL went to the fire escape, took a picture of the door and fucked off leaving neither card nor ringing the doorbell and will apparently be depositing the package at a shop a 40minute walk away. That was 3 hours ago and I havent had an email to say it's now actually at said shop. Useless pricks.

Anyone want an Element Games referral code? It's their loyalty scheme, you get double points on an order with a code

But I may have made an exception for that model - they were still showing a sh*tty neurogant though. To be fair they are cute little models but not something that is going to inspire you into the hobby.

Always remember if it f*cks up your contract is with the retailer and not DHL if they try to palm you off. Hope it wasn’t Element, who I generally love. Must go in person some day. It’s not a million miles away but I hate motorways.
