 This finally arrived after a delay, was on a special for £14 plus postage. No intention of starting this game but love the lore and aesthetic of the Heresy and wow, what a beautiful book. There are pages and pages and pages of lore, art, maps, a beautiful showcase section, it has a ribbon, it smells great. I think I’m now gonna have to collect the campaign books. Really wish I’d been there for the ‘Black Books’ back in the day which look even better. If anybody is heavily into the HH game and has this stuff, would appreciate a run down on what could be good as just a coffee table collection book and what would be a bit useless as just lists or rules. |

Rome is cool. Still wavering over whether to preorder the starter set for KT tomorrow. Probably will. Definitely doing the AoD as Blood Angels if/when I move on it, but realistically it’ll be bloody ages before it gets painted anyway. |

I really like the new Space Dwarf kits for Necromunda, I'll definitely be getting them whenever they are available, the trikes are darn cool - definitely a Billy Connelly tribute paint job in the works for them.

Sorry for the Roman spam, but I've just based up some of the 3D printed stuff alongside the Warlord originals and I'm pretty happy with the result.

Maybe crimson fist I could get a red paint pen! I just don’t have the time to get sorted with it all at the minute. Sadly. And KT:H is becoming a bigger task with my limited time. This new one I am looking forward to push fitting everything and playing with the wee man that day! |

Are the individual circular base bits about 6mm then by the look of it? These are tiny! Yeah, these are 13.5mm scale, Warlord's own Epic scale. It's not far off old school 15mm from before 15mm went through the same scale creep as 28mm did. Anyway, I think I've got my mojo back for painting these tiny wee men now I've got a colour scheme sorted for my legions, so I'll be posting up a few more progress pictures from now on. |

It’s definitely a model done right. I think this and the recent Chaos Lord (on foot) are both pretty top tier. The Kroot were great as well.

Rumour is new Fire Dragons, Swooping Hawks (+Baharroth), Warp Spiders (+a new WS Phoenix Lord), Asurmen and a new Viper are all coming Spring 2025. Along with some new Corsairs units - including redoing the old winged Corsairs Forge World models in plastic. They've not been mentioned in any rumours I've seen, but fingers crossed for a new War Walker, Dire Avengers and support platforms as well. |

I will believe when I see it. jain Zar was 2019 so I'm expecting the last Phoenix Lord to be done around 2030 during 13th edition, just after a full range of Prinaris mk2 makes some sort sort of stink.

Played my first game of Kill Team today! Took 6 hours lol.
We had Vespid vs Dancing Troupe... So two pretty bonkers teams to begin with I think! There are soooooo many rules. My god. I thought it was straightforward reading through the rule book, but once you get into the weeds of things like Cover/Obscured/Heavy/Light/Vantage/etc etc it really adds up. Then you chuck on specific terrain rules and a million buffs for your operatives, and wow. It's a blur of knowing if you actually did an action correctly or not. Definitely need to streamline the rules somehow, beyond just the cheat sheets I printed out.
Still, we had fun, and it was always going to be a learning experience. Now to watch a bunch of videos and facepalm at all the rules we missed.

As I’ve previously mentioned, I set myself an Orktober project of finishing the Kommandos Killteam within the month. I’ve failed. However last night I did complete the finishing touches to the Rockitt Boy and the Comms boy so *technically* all the Orks proper are done, barring the Squig and the Grot. They are not yet based or varnished and when it’s all properly, properly done I’ll post some better pics with the light box.   I don’t think I’m the best at Orks but I think they are pretty respectable and I’m pleased with their look on the shelf. They make painting marines seem really logical and easy by comparison. |

Firstly, thanks, secondly, I think there is as much variance as you want with Orks but the standard boys models I don’t think are as complex as this. As it’s Orks try in’ to be sneaky gitz, it’s almost a parody of tacticool where they all have everything under the sun hanging off them! It was a challenge doing them without a painting guide and figuring out what colours I could shoehorn in - there’s been a fair bit of mixing colours to get highlights etc. Thankfully my skin recipe is simple! |
