It’s en route! Might be up to 2 o clock, would have been about half twelve with the regular postie, so again curse you spray can! Anyways… maybe I can get another Ork painted by then!

If you're determined to start on the terrain, you could always prime on the sprue. Then file off in spot you need to glue. Any gaps in the prime won't be large enough for paint to come off.

It’s inspiring to see Magicpanda start painting as I’ve wanted to for a few years now. My issue is that I don’t know if I have room for it. I have a home office but the desk is “occupied” with the PC, tv and equipment. I could move the kb&m and mouse mat to free up some desk space, and it is a large desk…. Where do you guys build and paint, do you have dedicated or shared spaces? Not cheap by any means, but if you want to keep things really compact, then this is actually pretty good: frontierwargaming.com/product/hobby-deck/I've got one and I use it when I'm just building or painting a small number of minis (say 3-5 max) and just want to chill away from my desk in the living room. It'll take an A5 cutting mat and the water mug is magnetised to the surface (as are the storage trays). The optional light isn't bad, it does the job for a portable solution. I sometimes take the cushion off the bottom (it's just velcro'd on) and place the station on a little folding table when I don't want it on my lap. You do have to be really disciplined with how many paints you want out at once with a work area this size, but when you're just blocking in base colours or doing washes it's not that hard to stick to 4 or 5 paints for a single session. They even sell a cute little wet palette that fits it perfectly: frontierwargaming.com/product/wet-palette/You could definitely do this a lot cheaper with a laptop tray and some blutac to secure everything down, but I don't regret buying it.

They have some awesome stuff but the shipping cost is a swift kick in the nuts.

I have a non-Hivestorm delivery coming from TravellingMan today, just some paints and tools and such, and the delivery window Royal Mail have given me is between four hours. Surely they could narrow it down a bit more than that. I need to go to the shop for food. :/

It’ll come. Mine’s 45 minutes away apparently. Have painted about 2/3 of my nob whilst waiting

Honestly the detail on these is stupid. Painting the sack is like as much work as an entire marine or something.

You've painted 2/3rds of your nob, but it's the sack that's taking time.
At some point in the future, you travel back in time and write for Are You Being Served. Of that I'm sure.

Tell you what, this being the first proper Warhammer bigbox I've opened in 25 years, the quality of the box package for the price is pretty terrible. Yeesh.
Tell a lie - I did get Space Hulk about 5 years or so ago. Still got that and it felt premium. This is not that...
Anyway! Let's hope the game is good.

Mine’s here and I’ll shut up and hobby for a bit now. It’s absolutely ram packed and I really like the document wallet presentation, although it absolutely won’t last. The books are nice. The board is gorgeous although I thought it might be more sort of mouse mat-y and durable.
Say what you like about the company but they present a really exciting box edition launch usually.
And anybody that is bothered don’t forget the reveal show at 5 UK time - presumably will be posted on WH Community but I think it’s on Twitch live.
