I don’t actually like that sorry - unless the AoS miniature is a character or properly packaged single mini (and not just a Sigmarines cut from a sprue) it could be quite poor value IMO and it smells like paying £20 to enter a contest you aren’t likely to win - with work involved on top of it.
If anybody here wants an AoS miniature for less I’ll send you one for the cost of P&P.
I will say though that the Geek Gaming Scenics stuff is great - that’s what I use, I think Fork does too from memory (if not Fork somebody else here does).

I was thinking of it more as a bit of fun / cool little challenge, rather than a cheap deal, but obviously forgot to legislate for the forum killjoys

Much happier with this lil fella. Colours and blending all feel much better with thinner paint. Still some work to do on the clothes. Tiny touch of fleshy pink on the lips and ears makes all the difference (matron)

I was thinking of it more as a bit of fun / cool little challenge, rather than a cheap deal, but obviously forgot to legislate for the forum killjoys I knew I’d come across that way. I think the shop could do a fun challenge without trying to fleece its customers to participate, then, to be more direct. Surely they can afford to just have a compo and give some vouchers away. That’s the bad faith thing to me. I’m sure they can do tax write offs and stuff for a couple of hundred quid of vouchers. This feels like £20 to enter a raffle with extra conditionality to it. I’ll shut up now though.

Blimey, lovely work!
Yes, big fan of Geek Gamer Scenics basing stuff, I've been using their small scale stuff on my epic stuff and it's great.

@drakesmoke Nah, I’m only joking, I see where you’re coming from. I don’t think 20 quid is that bad though. Sure the mini won’t be worth it, but trying out a few different paint types should be interesting (and having a crack at mixing them). Might encourage me to actually commit to painting something too, which is probably worth the cost anyway.

Finally did some more work on the Outriders I haven't touched in weeks.
After the failure with the Green Stuff I originally tried, I'd already used the thinnest plasticard I could find to make new top plates for the bit where the two pieces of the bike joined down the middle because I hated that visible line, but the edges didn't look quite right, so tonight I've used a tiny amount of Vallejo plastic putty to fill in the gaps. Just need to let it dry and file it down now.
I did toy with the idea of using some embossed skull devices I found in my bits box from the old WHF Skeleton Warriors regiment, the bits that went on their shields, and applying them to the sides of the Outrider bikes, but they are a bit too Undead in their styling, so I think I will hang on to them in case I ever want to Legion Of The Damned bikes or something.
Look at the Raven Guard Minifigure with his lil' plasma pistol!

starchildhypocrethes I wasn’t trying to be petulant sorry, it was more if I’m expressing an unpopular opinion I’ll stop before I piss people off more. I’ll be honest over the last few years I’ve sunk probably daft amounts of money if I ever totted it up into a popular guitar raffle site with nothing to show for it. I think it kind of brought that back. The house always wins! I know there an element of painting contest to it though and it’s not a like for like comparison.

I'll take that He doesnt look quite so lime green in RL, I think my phone is doing some work there. Picked up some MegaNobz, intended to just buy some pink horror but here we are and I've not completed one paint job yet. I'm beginning to suspect this is a theme the world over. I always wanted to do a unit of Bugmans Dwarf Rangers decades ago, are they still around?

I can’t find any record of a current release for them although GW are slowly bringing back the ‘old world’ roster. Put ‘old world dwarf’ into a search on their site and you’ll see what’s available - square bases denote OG Warhammer releases.
In Sigmar, the dwarves are now split between Fireslayers (burn-y Viking inspired berserkers) and Kharadron (steam punk with canons and air ships) and in 40K trad Squats are gone and replaced with Votann (Space Marines at home with a really limited range - cool bikes and crawler vehicles though).
Edit - I’m sure some of the less casual than me folks will be able to chime on the likelihood of returning units.

I want that new servo skull paint pallette. No need for it when an old tile does the job for metallics or contrast (wet palette for acrylics when I can be arsed), just looks the business.

In an absolutely FFS moment, Combat Patrol 5 is now available again at Forbidden Planet. Could have saved myself a tenner there.

Reckon it will be in the shops still or has it gone to subscription only? You can buy it from Travelling Man atm - I don’t doubt that this particular issue will sell like hot cakes though. Edit - not sure which I mean out of Travelling and Forbidden. I’ve had an email about it either way. If you mean WH Smith’s/Sainsbury I don’t know. A slight possibility at Smiths maybe - I got an issue of the trial run there. I doubt the whole set will ever be available in shops.

Hoping I can pick this one up for the flamer, but was assuming they are using this unique model to encourage uptake of subs.

Il be absolutely wounded if this is in my local Tesco. I genuinely assumed it had sold out on preorder!

I always see later issues of Stormbringer in WH Smith's in Nottingham when I venture out. But I assume Combat Patrol might be a bit more sought after with 40k being more popular than AoS.

Well it’s a lesson learned never to pay scalper prices. The FOMO got me. What can I say.
Sadly doesn’t seem to be any method to cancel an eBay order.

Up to issue 20 contents out on Fauxhammer (turn your Adblock on). Mostly poor value other than the last couple issues in that. Presumably changes to chaos and Eldar for next lot.

I just ordered one of these on Etsy (Less than 4 quid!) so I can nick the whip for a character conversion, and it's only after ordering I've realised that the whip is in fact an Alien spine.
