The green stuff I used to fill the gaps in the join of the Outriders* simply peeled straight off when I tried to file it down smooth, even after allowing it to dry for more than 24 hours.
Gonna order some of the thinnest possible plasticard and cut it to shape instead.

I have these models and was really looking forward to them. I sometimes have a higher tolerance to bits like that though. I bought some Vallejo gap filler that is useless. The green stuff thing looks an absolute pain in the arse. I’ve heard of people making sprue goo and using that as filler. Possibly here. But that may be a cheap/free option for you if you have spare glue.

The trick is to use a wet paint brush to smooth it out over the area to be filled - ie cocktail stick and agitate it in to the gap, let it sit a bit to grab on and then BOOM whack it with a wet flat brush. It should clear most of the excess away.

Yeah, Milliput is what you want for vehicles.
GS for detail, Milli for large areas/edges, a mix of those to combine properties - holds decent detail and can be filed/sanded.

Is sprue goo an option? How big are the gaps?
Oh Drake beat me to it

Another gap filling tip I learned from Darren Latham is for narrow gaps super glue gel works really well. You can file it down nicely once it's set hard.

Reddit seems to suggest this is a massively common problem with these models - did it have pegs inside? Apparently they will fit well if h to use are clipped. I’ve just seen a couple of pictures and it isn’t pretty - seems to hit the sergeant model most.

On the 40K sub there is a post tonight about White Dwarf 502 being a bit poor. Apparently it’s shrunk by about 20 pagess and the pages are also smaller. Several opinions I agree with in the discussion:
Too many pages of very specific rules and rules scenarios (possibly some in here that actually game a lot may vociferously disagree there).
Tale of 4 Warlords and worse still…the Bunker… takes up about half of the magazine and struggles to keep my interest.
Less photos than there used to be by a large margin.
Lots of low quality text stories padding it out. From memory there are two great ones in the recent codexes (codices?) - one from the Tyranids and the Blood Games* one in the Custodes were great - there is nothing approaching this quality in White Dwarf.
One person pointed out the paper quality which I always have thought - it’s naff, thin, and doesn’t do the photos justice at all. I remember the pages being bright and thick with vivid colours. Photos of models now genuinely look better on my phone in most cases.
I actually thought 500 was quite good, but barely read 501 and if this is worse I may skip it or jump off the train.
It was a magical thing when I was a kid, I’d love to get hold of one to see if it’s just nostalgia. But I really have memories of launches of Guard and Eldar stuff that was just jaw dropping to look at. I swear the battle reports were better shot, written and easier to follow too. People bang on that it used to be too much a catalogue but I loved that! Anachronism to do that now I know.

That’s a shame. I’ve bought the odd issue recently (500!) and yet not read it properly for ages. My dad (being a pronter by trade) used to pick up the odd copy now and then at mine and remark on the quality, and issue a surprised/grateful snort at the ‘printed In The UK tag’. Feels a shame for them to cheap out.

I think it’s not just them - more than one printed publication I’ll still get on occasion is similar (Guitarist magazine, Mojo, all sorts of stuff that betrays my age). It’ll be an economy thing with the paper costs and keeping the magazine at a given price point.
If it had more to look at I’d happily pay a bit more as it’s only once a month. 500 was awesome as it had a couple of interesting features - I’d like to see more of that though to justify the price.

Frak me, the Inceptors are gorgeous models but Gravis with all the stirrups and accesories don’t have make for a shit ton of highlighting. Genuinely though I’d finish them today and haven’t - and reckon I’ve got several hours left on them if I factor basing etc in. Although I’m off this week, I actually have relatively little painting time available.
Think I’ll have to revise my target to these and the Dreadnought or more realistically, Chaplain. Dang.
I note after months and months of activity 40K seems a bit dead in the water and there’s not even a calendar of codex releases or anything at the mo. Cool for the Sigmar and Necromunda bros but they clearly have a bit of difficulty with capacity don’t they?
There’s some big factions without books or new releases on the horizon. This is why I think editions should be 5 years plus, and also why I think the codex should be art/fluff/showcases and much more optional.

Played a game of Spearhead last night with a half assed collection of primed models from Skaventide. It was great fun!
The objective / battle tactics system makes things pleasingly mobile and tactical, even on the small-ish board. Plenty to think about and the twist system gives the opportunity to keep things tight right to then end.
It’s feels like a larger scale Warcry, but with a bit more meat around the pre-game picks you need to make and the individual unit abilities.
My heroic rats lost by one measly point, but I think it was a well timed tactical retreat by the stormcast that swung it, which was quite cool.
Took about 2hrs first time out, but that will definitely reduce. Looking forward to a rematch and then trying out some of these other teams.

Also had first game yesterday, it took us about the same length of time. It was decent enough although a bit one sided (my son played too conservatively with the skaven and we stopped after round 3 cos I was 21-8 up).
I was maybe a bit frazzled having to do all the thinking and rules remembering for both of us.
A couple of highlights were my Vampire Lord doing a suicide charge on 1 health against Clanrats and using The Hunger to fully heal himself, then getting shot to pieces next turn by Rat Ogre and Clawlord pistol fire. Oh and when one of my Blood Knight horses managed to trample/chomp the final Clanrat in another unit.
Looking forward to playing it again.

It really is one of the worst they’ve put out in years. Truly abysmal.

"Exclusive to Target stores in the USA"
I'm sure that won't piss off the rest of the world at all.
Right, so what they have done there is set a game within a space hulk, with tiles to represent the interior of a space hulk, and provided models with stylised bases molded to represent not the deck of a space hulk, but of rocky terrain.

Sorry I quite like it. Have they revealed by mistake as I keep getting a redirect error on WH Community. It's particularly the way the eagle is pinned to the thing its pinned to. It just looks like it's flown into it. Also I cannot get over him having hair suddenly. Also the original is a classic. Nah it's the codex: Imperial Agents reveal.

Hmmm.
Quite a mishmash of stuff there and a lot of it are things I’m not particularly familiar with.
Giving me a bit of a ‘Cities of Sigmar’ feel almost, and some of the stuff like Voidsmen reminds me a lot of the old army units in the heresy books.
I’d almost be interested in the Malleus one but I highly suspect those Grey Knights won’t stay the course as models. Don’t get me wrong I think they are great but they haven’t aged well against the Primaris scale creep.
I’ll get the book like the others and see what’s what. It could give me some extra options to make a cheaper army by rolling some Sisters stuff in with it I already own.

@blue Mike
Target have history with this kind of thing, they recently had a box with Titus and the new Termagant models in exclusive to them. It’ll probably be slightly trashy I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.

Half those models seem to be from the Inquisition kill team and Black Fortress, so that saves me the bother.

Yeah Imperial Agents lists are always meant to be mixed in to other lists really, rather than armies in and of themselves. Dating all the way back to 2nd Ed. Or an alternate general + retinue to go with another army like the Guard.
But yeah getting all the cool cribbly stuff like Rogue Traders, Arbites, Navy Marines etc. is great stuff! Some of my favourite 40K bits. Though IMO DeathWatch, Grey Knights, Custodes and Sisters of Silence should stayed that way and we could have done without the dumb ass Grey Knights Ripley Walker thing. But no Marines, gotta Marine.

Those packs look good to me. I only like painting, so a box full of different model types is very appealing

Or just different to mine! ^_^ I'm just very much of the opinion that Imperium Minis should be more John Blanche weird Imperial Agents stuff from the 2nd Edition rulebooks, all that weird gothic art that drew me in in the first place. They should be less Space Marines; specifically where there's a bunch of overlap, like multiple main battle tanks etc. So all the Blackstone Fortress / Kill Team oddness they've done has been really up my street. I'm about to get some Paragon Warsuits for my Sisters, but I dislike their existence. They're sort of filling a Terminator niche. I prefer the armies to be a bit asymmetric and not all get one of each thing.

See again I really like the warsuits and the various Penitent Engines - I’ve always been a sucker for mechs etc though. I actually did dislike the Redemptor type dreads at first because I had a fixed idea of the box dreads - they were my favourite model as a kid. Never owned it and only ever saw the Blood Angels one the Manchester Games Workshop had painted up. Gods that shop used to be a cave of wonders and a proper day out - it’s sort of sad what they’ve become. The box dreads look tiny now and don’t fit well with the Primaris scale to me though.
I probably got into it quite late and it was only a window of time when all I knew was second ed and then was in White Dwarf. I was never that hardcore as a kid and would just play with whatever ten models I had available on the carpet, often playing against myself, and making judicious use of that 2nd Ed card scenery and dreadnought. Both did not like standing on the carpet lol. It sounds like you have an emotional connection to a certain period which I do get. I was very young and had disengaged by 3rd ed altogether, flirting with AoS during Covid and it’s actually the Leviathan launch that reeled me back. So whatever nods to modernity they’ve done worked on me - I bet you feel like a Quake kid having your hobby invaded by CoD dudebros here lol.
