That top know thing is absolutely horrible. I hate them on any models. I would leave a hole on the head of a model rather than afix that horror

Have I worked with you before Ape
I seriously did have a colleague that had this burning irrational hatred of top knots just like yours

But he's right, whoever he is. Or is it whomever I ams. I don't know. But what I do know, is that the those bloody things on models are bowel-rupturingly offensive

I concur. Unless you're a ronin with a mysterious past, get that shit off your head, Gary

What is the difference? I assumed they were interchangeable.
To be fair it may be a bit of genuine culture among the big and bad of Cthonia. It’s not like he’s from TOWIE or something

I wore a pony tail when I was 21 because Boots made me to work there
Where do we stand on those

Pony tail fine. Bit annoying if you're the repressed employee but I'll understand.
I was working VMS at 21 so a ponytail would have looked weird but Boots gets a pass

I think a top knot is just a manbun that's way out of hand

At that point in my life my sole purpose was to rep my love for Machine Head and Fear Factory and if it repelled potential mates so be it.
I’d have been eaten alive in a mechanics (I had to Google that) like that episode of the Inbetweeners.

It did repel potential mates as well
To be fair ladies did used to ask for my conditioning tips.
The secret was simply never to air dry it

Vaguely remember trying to befriend him on musical grounds but he was into nothing but reggae and country (a weird mix) so I gave up

Gah. So I've just preordered the Dwarf Battalion box. That's another box to add to the pile of unbuilt Old World sprues. Still, I've not ever had plastic GW Dwarfs before so there's that I guess.

I've assembled the terrain and some Skaven units from the Skaventide box. It wasn't bad, a couple of small wtf moments on the Grey Seer and Clawlord but overall the push fit minis are easy. More mold lines than normal. Great detail on everything. Hoping to get a game of Spearhead in tomorrow (Skaven v Soulblight). A'simple' test scheme for 20 skellingtons I've got to paint. Took about an hour to do and used 14 paints.

Recommendations for stripping primer off a plastic scenery piece?!
I committed the rookie error of forgetting to shake a new can for ages first, so have a grainy finish on one piece that obscures ask the detail.
I've used acetone free nail polish before to great effect on metal minis but I'm worried it would melt the plastic

www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09B3VN158?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_shareYeah iso alcohol, as high a percentage as you can get. This one is as high as you can go without using it for tractor maintenance I think and is what I got. Handle it carefully with ventilation and preferably gloves - if anybody in your home dyes their hair those types of glove will work, as will garden or surgical type gloves. Don’t let kids or pets near it. You don’t want it absorbing through your skin at this concentration as it can cause poisoning apparently. You can use Dettol or 70% alcohol too which might be safer but will not strip quite as effectively. I’ve read that Dettol does leave minis smelling of Dettol too! Put in a sealed Tupperware and let it soak overnight and then find a spare toothbrush and it will slough off any remaining paint with a gentle scrub.

Can confirm the dettol comment, I picked up a couple of cheap rhinos that had been stripped. 6 months on they still hum faintly of the stuff.

Isopropyl alcohol is pretty unproblematic. Certainly don't drink it or get it in your eyes, and don't let open containers stand around. An occasional splash on your skin is also harmless. Probably not a good idea to soak your tail in it, but can't confirm or deny that.

Yeah it’s probably mostly Ok. I just personally believe in reducing risk by eliminating it where possible and have read that it can be absorbed. It’s mostly at the scrubbing stage that might be an issue as you have to hold the soaked model.

You've all just reminded me that I've had a squad of metal Swooping Hawks sat in a sealed tub of Dettol since LAST YEAR. They were at the back of a kitchen cupboard somewhere.
30 minutes later and they're now lovely and clean and drying on the window sill. The kitchen absolutely stinks of Dettol though!
Good job they're metal as they'd be a tub of brown goo by now.

Got a rare week off. Planning to get done:
3x Inceptors A chaplain A Redemptor dread
And if possible 5 Infernus.
I think in the last case it’s probably not very realistic. However if I get the first three on the list done I think I’ll then take a couple of weeks to tie up loose ends which would be the Infernus, 3 Von Ryan’s and a Mawloc. The last two will finish my Tyranid collection…although I have been looking longingly at whatever that giant one with impractical tentacles is called…
Also managed to get the Lieutenant from Leviathan done - just needs the transfers/basing etc doing.
I’ve officially got a proper pile of shame after this I think.
3 marine combat patrols 2 marine tanks A captain 2 boxed squads Outriders A Sisters Battleforce 2 sister combat patrols An Ork combat patrol
And a Spitfire daughter got me for Xmas. I must paint that at some point.

I’m pretty basic. I don’t f*** with Forgeworld!
I’m also not a huge fan of the model tbh.
