Skaventide is one hefty boy.
Just a shame it comes in one of those crappy flimsy boxes GW have started using, rather than the armoured one Leviathan came in.

I went for it as well. It has great reviews, apparently doesn't run as hot as that one with the Amazon Recommended banner, and I will be using it for not just models but doing another Fine Leather Jacket as well.
Threw some Vallejo air flow improver and cleaner into the basket as well, since it's what pretty much every YouTube painting guide and person on TaleOfPainters bangs on about.

It has other uses. Just saying.

Just been watching Garfy's helpful guide, and he seems to be using either the same, or a variant of, the one I mentioned earlier with the Amazon Recommended banner on it, that supposedly runs hot. The compressor moves around his desk like a mental washing machine.

Been doing a bit of shopping myself…retail therapy really.
So if DHL don’t lose it, coming tomorrow is basically enough stuff to get my Space Tories to about 3500 points:
Captain in Gravis Armour
Heavy Intercessors
Hellblasters
Repulsor
Gladiator
Another CP Blood Angels - I already have one, but hear me out - this gets me the ultimate That Guy Meta pack of six aggressors (more to come on this), 2 Impulsors (I love these, saw somebody with 2, loved the symmetry and wanted it too). And I can now build one squad of Incursors *and* Infiltrators - I’ve been properly torn about that decision.
This will leave me a spare Librarian - which I’ll donate to my one IRL Warhammer mate who is having a bit of a rough time at work. So you see there IS a selfless motivation behind this purchase!
My pile of shame will now be officially stupid, so I have to keep the paint train running. So without much further ado…

Apothecary Biologis:   The detail creep was a bit obnoxious on that one to be honest. Combined with white armour it was a PITA! He will lead my Aggressors. And for all the haters of the Sons of Macragge: Enter the Swarmlord!   This one is my one concession to all the piracy you guys seem to be into. The torso is a 3D print off Etsy - which enabled me to build this out of spare bits after the winged tyrant. Tidy! |

Uhoh he's buying an airbrush They terrify me. It’s all the ventilation and power. Rattle can and brush for life. Jealous of the priming capabilities though and some of the effects that can be done with it. |

Got some dust masks and goggles in the garage, and a few empty boxes I could upend to catch overspray. Might go to Hobbycraft on my lunchbreak tomorrow to grab a sketchbook to practice control on too. |

Apologies, I missed this as I’ve been knee-deep in grey plastic. So. Many. Clanrats. On the plus side, massive props to GW for these push fit models as at least most of these little bastards are just a couple of bits to glue together. Not helping myself reach the end either as I’ve just ordered the Maggotkin of Nurgle spearhead as it looks cool. |

Outriders in progress. Didn't have any instructions as I bought the sprues off eBay, so some minor annoyances in the assembly but nothing major.
Cleaning the mold lines from the tires took a fucking age.
Haven't used green stuff in years, and it's so fiddly that I'm in awe of people who can just outright sculpt things with it instead of just patching cracks and misaligned parts. That top part of the bike should really have been cast as a seperate piece from the sides. Thankfully when I come to do the biker chaplain, there's a book covering that part of his bike.
Been thinking about doing a kitbash biker techmarine, and if I used the bike chaplain as the basis for that, I could paint the book like a little Haynes manual.

The outriders are decidedly not the best kit ever. While building them, I thought of at least eight, quite easy and plausible ways they could improve on them in a new version. |
