These aren't going to win any painting competitions, but 2 ranks to a base, with 12 bases in the box, they'll look pretty decent on the table I reckon.
The Romans will be easier to paint given their greater uniformity, but I knocked out these 30 tiny chaps in an hour or so, so this project isn't too daunting really...

Have you dipped Mike?
Edit: Sorry. This looks all kinds of odd out of context. Fork posted in between. The last post I was replying to was Blue_Mike’s rat ogre stuff 😅

I have not.
A mate of mine just wants the Skaven and is averse to buying it just for them.
This did turn up in the post for me today though.

What is this? Warhammer for ANTS?! Ha! Well yes, these are somewhat diminutive in stature, but what they lack in size they make up for in numbers.

Bases and Nurgle ? On topic then: Still a ways to go, hindered by making the mobs to go with.

A.k.a. the walking bagpipes. I’ve seen less polite things written about it. Somebody on the Tyranid subreddit sprang the word ‘Tervigussy’ on the world about the birthing sac opening. Once you have this knowledge, it cannot be forgotten.

Yeah, but that's way too obvious and also focuses on a single detail. But look at it, you can immediately hear bagpipe music in your head when you imagine that thing walking over the battlefield. Must be the Emperor's Children's favourite enemy.

Sorry to spam the thread with my teeny tiny Gallic warriors, but I finished 60 of them and and based them up:
The ants won't know what's hit 'em!
It's nice painting a totally different scale, I enjoyed doing a load of Battletech stuff (including infantry and tanks) last year and that's even tinier at around the 6mm size. These more-or-less 15mm troops are more of a challenge but a refreshing change from 28 / 32mm at least.

Long weekend of hobbying has begun.
Mawloc built this morning, getting sprayed when I’ve finished my coffee. That’s not for painting yet and I think I’ll do him last for my ‘Nids - got him, Swarmlord and 3 Leapers (which I keep putting off lol).
Gonna try to get two marine characters done this weekend and I have my Sternguard, Terminators and Captain to do some final details and transfers on. Aiming to have 13 finished models by Monday which is 14 with the Tervigon in a week (although the groundwork for many of them has been put in during the previous few weeks).
It’s a slog isn’t it!

I will, of course. Just realised as I primed that the tail tip on my Mawloc has slipped and set wrong.
Probably be on the lookout for a hobby saw now. Ffs.
Edit : fucking autocorrect

Slight change of scale and setting today - woke up happy with the state of things today so decided to celebrate by painting up a 3D print zombie giant for my next game of Deth Wizards, because why not?
Things can only get gribblier.

Yes, I glazed them specifically. If you're not spending your Saturday mornings glazing nipples then what exactly has gone wrong with your life?

I’m painting the Terminator Librarian. This is very challenging and requires techniques I’ve not really used plus a bit of McGuyvering. It’s coming along OK so far if a bit scruffy in places. The force axe I tried twice before re-basing and switching to a different tutorial (good old Duncan).
One thing I am coming across with some of these tutorials is that they would have you buying 30 different colours for one model - I don’t need or want to own ANOTHER blue so I’ve been trying substitutes and mixing to varying degrees of success. One thing I have found is that you can make a very passabe Sotek Green by mixing Stegadon Scale and a blue like Teclis.
Loads of people seem to have cottoned on to the pin wash with white oil for the runes, and I was not gonna go there. I tried doing a medium + Kroxigor contrast pin wash but if it has done anything it is bloody subtle. What I’ve found to sort of work was Teclis Blue (again, recommended by nobody but what I had) thinned to an inch of its life with the corporation pop. It’s really satisfying seeing the capillary action in, erm action, and the way intersecting lines grip onto one another and tense up. I’ve ended up doing two of these sort of pin washes and then a repeat in strategic places with Blue Horror.
Fingers crossed it turns out OK, feel like I’ve rushed it because I had plans to paint more than this this weekend, but I’ve adjusted my expectations there now.
I guess what I’m trying to say is piss about until you find something that works if you don’t quite have the materials or talent to copy these amazing painters that distort your sense of reality. At the end of the day it’s gotta be good enough for your own shelf or table and that’s what’s important.

Started "Fallen Angels". I have a feeling this one's going to be another "Battle For The Abyss".

OK, last one for now, my giant bone golem.
I'll now switch to painting terrain for a bit - I have some 15mm Roman houses and a temple to paint up before the Warlord Epic box turns up in 3 weeks.
