Long delivery times on some of the stuff I ordered from Etsy. While the Lazarus model above is estimated for next week, a collection of bits including winged backpacks and cloaks is estimated for anywhere from the 10th to 29th of July, while a set of boltgun silencers is estimated for 10th to 29th of August. I’d imagine it’s all essentially print to order isn’t it? If they are one man bands maybe the sellers wait until there is a big enough batch to make it economical - but I don’t really understand printing.
Could well be. I've just been looking at some of the Archie's Forge stuff, as it seems to be one of the few places with Raven Guard specific items.
Saw this and thought of you @drakesmoke, as it satisfies both of your armies at once.

Wait I thought boltguns are firing rocket-propelled projectiles? My understanding is that there is a traditional casing with propellant like firearms as we know it. The rocket ignites after the bolt is fired ‘traditionally’ and shortly after it leaves the barrel. I’ve no idea how loud the jet is supposed to be though. God what have I become

Wrong universe. It’d be The Warp here.
I’m going to say no, because it’d be supersonic and you wouldn’t have the perception it was headed to you.
You could stop it with a bad dice roll or an invul save instead probably.

If it's supersonic, it makes even less sense to try and suppress it.

Happy Skaventide pre-order day to those who celebrate.
(It's already sold out at the usual third party stockists)

It's €188 here to preorder, stock still available.
It's not something I can justify

Next week's issue of Warhammer Stormbringer magazine is Bastian Carthalos, one of my favourite models I've wanted for ages.
Good price for €15.

Still on Goblin Gaming I think? Yep, looks like a whole bunch of them have added more allocations already. Alchemists Workshops, Wayland Games and Goblin Gaming all showed sold out just after 10, now they're taking orders again \o/

I know I have a million unpaid models already.. I wouldn't have time to learn or play the game.. it would take me years to paint the set.. yet why am I still tempted?

Gotta love Travelling Man - great prices and I think they often have stock on stuff because people don’t think of them.
I ordered some stuff from Goblin earlier in the week - you basically get zero tracking info from them but they actually use Amazon as a courier, and a couple of days later I got tracking data from Amazon, which became viewable in the app. Just in case anybody orders from there and then gets a squeaky bum.
I’d love to jump in on Sigmar again RN but I just don’t have the justification for time and money. If I come up on the lottery this week I will revisit that.
Anybody who gets it please do post prodigiously about your impressions and everything in the box with lots of photos please.

If it's supersonic, it makes even less sense to try and suppress it. Without wanting to end up on a watchlist or being painted as sport of redeck MAGA chap… There are two sounds associated with a bullet firing. There’s a boom or thump caused by the explosion of the propellant in the casing and in the gun. Most bullets are supersonic and the crack (sound two) is the sound barrier being broken. A suppressor deals with the former so it’s quieter at the gun end. Less hearing damage for the shooter and also does help keep the position of a shooter more vague. Obviously for a marine with super resilient everything and likely having sound filtered through a helmet I don’t think they would be worried about tinnitus. Ultramarines in particular would laugh in the face of decibels because they are the pinnacle. The crack is dealt with by using subsonic ammo but you don’t have to combo this and the advantages of suppression still work out per the info above with supersonic ammo. All this said, I think suppressors look cool AF but maybe aren’t that on-brand for Space Marines, save maybe for some very particular Phobos or scout type profiles. It’s a good job I’m not single.

How much do you reckon the Stormcast half of the minis would fetch as a job lot on eBay?

How much do you reckon the Stormcast half of the minis would fetch as a job lot on eBay? I reckon somewhere in the region of seventy quid, more maybe if the set becomes hard to get. You could make much more probably by breaking them down into separate lots - I bought 10 Leviathan Termagants for around a tenner alone. And there will always be some demand because when they release them as standalone officially, they will be overpriced so you just have to undercut that. Right I’m out!

That's roughly what I was thinking. I'd be happy to sell in one lot and make a bit less just to save the hassle of repeat trips to the post office.
Ordered.
(from Travelling Man)
Now let the buyers regret sink in..
But if I get £70 back then that means I got some awesome Skaven minis and the rulebooks & scenery for only £58, so hey ho

I have had this zombie dragon thing built for three years, and today I woke up and decided to slap some paint on.
Random unpainted 28mm crossbowman for scale. Also, my sprue of Warlord Epic ancients turned up (that's them in the background, squint and you'll see them) - I got Celtic warriors, but what I didn't get were bases for them, so Ebay to the rescue. I'll be painting up a few of these shortly.

Is that one the Dungeons & Lasers dragons? If so, what's the plastic like to work with?
Would make a really good proxy for an undead dragon in a Soulblight Grave Lords or Flesh Eater Courts army.

Yep, it's Thall the Defiler. The kits are pretty good from memory, although I stuffed up the connection between the tail and the rock, but I'll put that down to my incompetence. It’s good quality plastic and the price is great for the size of the figure.

Lol. I knew it was for aesthetics. Was just explaining how a suppressor might work on a bolter for Zag not criticising.

Absolute b*stard of a day - looks like the washing machine has packed in for one and been on and off trying to sort that all day. Thought I would finish this tonight but no chance now and I’m putting it away to fight another day. Anyway here’s a blurry WIP

Finished the Tales Of Heresy anthology. Before moving on to Fallen Angels, I read Death Of A Silversmith, a (very) short story detailing the final thoughts of a Remembrancer killed aboard the Vengeful Spirit. It's only about a five minute read, and it feels like something that could have been a single chapter in one of the earliest HH novels, with an inevitable final line that left me feeling nostalgic for those early books.
