Neither will they, considering they sold out in minutes last year.
Couple of boxes of the new generic gangers and thon running Van Saar champion will do me, no need to add to the sprue mountain.

Iโve re-read my last post and it is quite sarcastic, even though it wasnโt my intention. The minis are really very good and I would like to see more. Closer up and sans thumb if possible.
Keep up the very good work!

Nice job. Iโve just ordered a mechanicus box, the sisters box, and the marines Xmas box. Havenโt touched my marines stretching all the way back to the 8th Ed launch boxโฆ.

Forgot the generic Outcasts came out today - sold out everywhere already. Underestimated the hype have GW, never mind the frenzy of the masses.

So all this time Iโve been thinning my paints with distilled water. It worked well enough, a solid consistent enough coat after a few applications, and brush strokes remaining I always put down to my unsteady hands. I finally used some proper airbrush medium (even though Iโm just regular brushing) and oh me oh my the difference is night and day. Less coats required, way smoother and consistent, no brush strokes visible.

Any good airbrush brand recommendations? I keep looking ones up but donโt know which ones are worth getting. Thereโs cheap ones on Amazon but Iโm guessing you really get what you pay for.

Ah now that's a whole other scab to pick! I use a Harder & Steenbeck Ultra which is more or less the most basic you can get while keeping with a top quality company. You get 2 needle and nozzle sets with it which is very handy - 0.2mm and 0.4mm. It is a good one to learn on as its not complicated like some makes, although it's still a curve to get it working well. As are all airbrushes I think. If you're in the US, the Badger make is very popular and I think similarly priced. I wouldn't bother going with a cheap chinese one - the savings are minimal by the time the compressor and extractor are taken into account. I did a rundown in another thread of my kit. If you are interested I can dig it out here?

Yeah everything I've seen/read about them says to splurge a bit on the brush and the compressor. A fume hood is recommended if you'll be using it indoors as well. This is a decent rundown of you can be arsed to watch it, and it's not memetastic: youtu.be/EmvKgLTRFcs

Oooh, yeah, if you've got a rundown that would be great. Not 40k but my current struggle is painting all the minis from the Batman Animated Series game. To get them to look accurate you either have to block color with no shading (so no way to disguise shoddy work with tactical dry brushing and washes) or have the skill to do cell shading and perfect lines (which my dodgy old hands can't do). I figure an airbrush will help well with option 1. Just to highlight with some visuals, I could probably replicate this with some success, but it doesn't look right to me: This is how they're supposed to look, but being that precise and smooth is beyond my talents (even though these are mockups): Not that I ever strive for perfection (or possess the steady hand and keen eye for it anyway), but getting somewhat in the ballpark would be nice.

I use a Harder & Steenbeck Infinity CR Plus with a Sparmax TC-620X compressor. Pricey combo, but really very good.
The biggest hurdle with airbrushing is getting past the learning curve of understanding how much you need to thin down your paints to avoid clogging the nozzle. It takes a while and can be frustrating at times, but once you get the hang of it you'll wonder what you did without one.

I've been watching a couple of videos on this channel and she makes it look so easy. It kind of is because she's painting large figures not miniatures but keep going, Gremmi! It's totally worth it.

Yeah, I've been brush painting for several years now and can get relatively good tabletop ready results, but need to expand my horizons a bit. I'll never be close to that quality or anything approaching Golden Demon but as long as it looks good on the table I'm not worried.

Have you tried Contrast paints - they can have a bit of a cartoony feel to them and can look pretty good with some care and attention - some need thinning to get better results. I'll be checking out the Army Painter speed paints next year as they look like they're better (and cheaper) than the Contrast paints from the previews I've seen so far.

Yeah, contrast paints are basically cheat mode most of the time. One of the blues over a coat of grey is instant jeans, great for anything modern day.

Love Contrast and probably use at least a bit on almost everything I paint these days in one way or another. Really looking forward to trying those Army Painter Speed Paints and especially hoping they have some colours/tones that aren't covered by the Contrast range.

Used as guided, contrast paints produce an uncanny valley of too much colour saturation in shadows and too little in highlights. Underpainted, with complimentary coloured highlights applied before a light application of contrast as a midtone/glaze is the best way I've found to use them. They are a very useful addition to a mini painter's arsenal, hope the Army Painter ones are as good as the preview ones look.
