I want this to be good but it’s just a bit shit.
Slippery naked Boba just made me laugh. The guy is rubbish at everything and is an idiot but the show seems to be doing it by accident. He’s doing nothing to suggest he has any chance of taking over a crime empire, I assume the last episode is him giving up and retiring.

At least the gang was led by Sophie Thatcher, the second hottest Thatcher (objectification of women is cool again on this forum) Hottest being Margaret.

When the series is done, I want a super cut of Boba bumbling about, from the original trilogy, to Jango in the prequels, to this show. Edit it to the Benny Hill theme.
I like the show, but he really is shitty at most things.

Jesus this is awful. I'm watching the wookie fight and the funky bunch just came to the rescue. I'm not sure I can endure much more.

Wait for the power rangers to get on their bikes.

That could be the most badly shot chase scene I think I've ever saw. Robert Rodriguez is an absolutely terrible director.

I don't think he's a bad director, but his love of low budget effects can be a detriment depending on the source material. Like it might not work in a sci-fi series, but it works for his Mariachi trilogy, or From Dusk Till Dawn, or Sin City. But Star Wars had (past tense) a reputation of being cutting edge, and the schlocky green screen look doesn't work for it.

He hasn’t directed anything good in about 20 years.

Of all the times my girlfriend could start watching to see what the fuss is about, it had to be during that awful chase. How they made and watched that and didn't think it needed more work I'll never know. The bikes were terrible throughout the episode, not just the chase.

It's completely down to the director. I've had the misfortune of having to sit through his bullshit kids films and they all have that same awful direction. Everything he makes looks like absolute shit.

I enjoyed it. Whilst the Speeder Lambrettas may have looked out of place for some, it harked back to Luke wanting to go to Tosche Station to get some power converters. Young people on Tatooine must be bored shitless, and probably want something that looks cooler than what other people have. This is backed up by spending credits on the augment upgrades. They probably think it would give their gang a reputation. Which is understandable on a world where one of the obvious career choices is working for a crime syndicate.

Robert applied all his crappy spy kids special effects to this episode. I’ve never seen such a slow motion shit special effect chase in my life. Episode was great up until that though.

He hasn’t directed anything good in about 20 years. He directed the "Boba Fett kicks ass" episode of The Mandalorian ("The Tragedy"), interestingly. But to be fair it did have some cheesy stuff in (particularly the final baby-theft).

Everything he makes looks like absolute shit. He seems to be one of those directors that needs a low budget, but then should do projects that can get away with a low budget. I’ve seen he was proud for making those kids films on a ridiculously low budget with crappy effects, I guess young kids don’t care much so it makes some sense. Awful for anyone else to watch though.

“We can’t afford water!” “But you can afford these fucking bikes?” (Fett kills them all)
I can write this way gooder.

Why is she wearing a table cloth? And I thought Margaret had bad taste in clothes! It's completely down to the director. I've had the misfortune of having to sit through his bullshit kids films and they all have that same awful direction. Everything he makes looks like absolute shit. But Spy Kids 1 & 2 were ace. I do get what people mean about his style of moviemaking probably not gelling with ultra-high-budget star wars expectations though.

What spoiled it for me was that those "speeder bikes" looked like mobility scooters. After that the lack of any sense of speed during the chase (which fits the mobility scooter thing).
But those were the only things that I did not like about this episode. I am still curious on how the story will develop (both in the flashback, although that I think I can guess as in the present time).

Going to watch EP3 tonight. As usual I'm not holding out much hope. How many episodes are there in total? Am I right in saying there are 6?

7. And we can already assume they're going full holiday special and have Boba ride the fucking Rancor tearing up Pikes left and right.

7? I hope it picks up then. A lot. Or everyone will wish old Bobby Feta had never climbed out of the skunge pit.

Also. Has he at least mentioned his book yet? I presume it'll make an appearance. I wonder what kind of book it is. He's obviously looking for it. I lost my Kindle once for two years before I found it nestled between two of my wife's cheesy romance novels on her bookshelf. I was ripping. Properly Boba Fett levels of anger. Same stern emotiveless face and everything.

From this TV series, I've got no idea where he got his fearsome reputation from. That might have been before he was guzzled up by the slurp monster.

I believe the book is "The Big Book on How to Act Good by Tommy Wiseau".

At least the gang was led by Sophie Thatcher Or as I've recently come to know her, younger Juliette Lewis in Yellowjackets.
