TV is pretty great, although I've come from a 1080p set so most would be a step up. I need to put it through its paces more tbh. Sekiro in 4K looked lovely. But it's amazing how much I've just been watching shit on terrestrial lol
Definitely hard to fault so far but would've possibly found the same with cheaper model?

Probably, but imo, if you're going to do it, get the best you can afford.

There was a code LGTV10, but looks like it might've expired now :/ Looks like it’s back 👍

I heart my TV after a few weeks. Picture is so good - really amazing contrast tbh. Can see a range of tones in dark scenes - really lovely. And things like fucking Gardener's World are like nature porn.

Separate Q... I have a SFF PC hooked up to my telly via HDMI. Does anyone know of a way to turn it on with a remote?
I've discovered FLIRC today and they look v cool, but not sure if it can turn on the TV from shutdown. Thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

Turning on the pc from shutdown you mean? Don’t think usb can do that. From sleep yes, but in my experience it will randomly wake up at times.

Mine seems ok from sleep now although the previous Win 10 build did wake up randomly as has been mentioned. Do take precautions like screen saver and auto hide taskbar etc.

I’d take the pc’s power management out of the loop and get an infrared power outlet, short the power switch on the pc and have it boot straight into windows without a password.
LTT was recently talking about how sleep/standby in windows has been broken for a while.

Backlight on my current tv is buggered though so my resolve may not last much longer…

LTT was recently talking about how sleep/standby in windows has been broken for a while. At least 2 decades by my estimates. When I switched to MacOS in 2015 I was shocked how much better the sleep mode was on a MacBook. It all adds up to a much better user experience.

Finally got my C2 ordered. I missed the 10% off code and gave up waiting for it to come back. Being delivered on Monday!
Any tips on calibration?

Speaking of the C2, does the FG hivemind still consider it the sweet spot between price and performance?
Need to get something to stare at in my new flat, which I fucking hate with a great passion BTW. A big fuck-off telly might make it less depressing.

Depends what you want I’m very happy with my Samsung qn95 mini led neo with eye searing brightness and deep blacks. But I’m in the minority on here

You get the top-end panel and tech (A2 is low-end, B2 is mid-range), the only thing the G2 has over the C2 is a bit higher peak brightness and the uniformly flat design.

Cheers all, telly seems pretty banging. Haven't turned all the bollocks off yet, and only tried Netflix and YouTube, can't wait to watch Blade Runner 2049 or The Red Shoes.

Arrived today, but the mrs has decided the tv cabinet needs painting before it goes on. I guess that makes sense but now I need to wait until tomorrow evening to get it out the box

Tv looks sexy.
Been stressing myself out messing around with settings but I think once I turned off energy saving and set the picture to expert it was probably ok. So I think I’ll just leave it for now.

So I think I’ll just leave it for now. I know exactly how you feel. I'm still on a Samsung KU6400 which wasn't top of the range 5 years ago and HDR isn't worth bothering with. I'd absolutely love a LG C2 but I really don't want a giant TV as I don't have the space for it or the money for that matter. I don't know if any of this will help but thought I'd share. youtu.be/uGFt746TJu0Good channel in general I think. www.howtogeek.com/299838/how-to-get-the-best-picture-quality-from-your-hdtv/Also have 3 video files for setting up brightness and contrast from the AV forum but I think you'd be lucky to find the files these days. Maybe from the link above which as you can see by the date is a few years old but still relevant

I’ll check that out thanks. I usually end up tweaking loads of stuff, stressing myself out and at the end I’m not sure if it looks any different to what it did at the start

My LG OLED's have all been pretty decent out of the box to be fair. I just set the picture mode to Cinema/Movie, turn the sharpness down to 0, double check TruMotion is off, make sure the colour temp is down at the warm end and turn all energy saving gubbins off. From there they've all looked pretty decent.
There's more tomfoolery to be had but the above gets you 98% of the way there in my opinion.

Yeah that’s what I’ve found tbh. And a couple of videos I’ve watched back that up.

My only slight disappointment, which is nothing to do with the TV, is that it doesn't feel noticably bigger than my last one. Which isn't a surprise going from 49-55. Unfortunately the 65 would have been too big for the space not to mention the additional expense.
The 55 is the right size though, and it does look great so very happy so far!

Yeah, I went from 37" to 55" and the difference was absolutely massive. Enjoy - make sure you check out all the BBC nature stuff on iPlayer. Their HDR is something else.

Yeah good shout on the nature stuff, I'll definitely check that out. Did a bit of gaming last night which also looked great.
A small thing, but I really like the stand as well. Really smart compared the horrible V shaped one on the old tv.

Does iPlayer stream in HDR? If so I'm all over that for the spurs game later!

Yes. Football looks great on it. I like to get up really close and look at the crowd.

The games they stream in HDR do vary IME. Either not every game is HDR or I miss them! But nature stuff is all HDR and is mind blowing.

To be honest the nature stuff may be preferable to watching spurs.
