Same boat. I've a C9 oled and it's fine but just doesn't go bright enough for my room. I had a Neo 95 briefly but had hdmi issues and it got returned. I've a neo94 coming on Friday which is the same as the 95 but without the external connect box thing which apparently has issues. The picture on the QLED was stunning and mega bright. I've had the oled nearly 3 years and its mainly for gaming an movies and has zero burn in. Just my 2p worth..... Cheers has the q94 got the 4 hdmi 2.1 ports still? Stupidly just the one unfortunately. Only the 95 has more than 1. C1 has 4 .

I'm trying the 94 and hoping a hdmi switch will do the job. I suspect all next years models will have 4 2.1 sockets but that's months away unfortunately. Buying a tv for gaming at the moment is a bit of a minefield. I'd have preferred a Sony but their high end models have no VRR at all.

The mini led screen on the new MacBook is very impressive, good depth to the blacks. Viewing angle isn’t very good though, if you’re not in the sweet spot you’ll know about it. I’d still take oled for general tv/gaming/family use (just got a C1 so take my opinion with a pinch of salt)

Yeah this, I’ve got a bright room. Also my mate has a 65” c9 oled in a bright room and it really didn’t pop at all. I thought it was his settings as he never changes anything but I played around with it for ages and it didn’t look any better. It seriously didn’t look any better than my old qled ks8500 in a bright room. I know it would look a lot better at night though.

In a moment of madness I ran through a burn-in test video last night. Thankfully, all clear! The TV is only almost 18 months old but with covid restrictions it’s been used for many hours daily, and I play Apex legends for about 90 minutes a day so if there was going to be something with static UI to cause me problems it would be that.

The burn-in on my B7 is definitely getting worse, almost like the screen itself is deteriorating.
I've decided not to have LG do a panel change because frankly I don't have any confidence it would last - so I guess I'm back in the market for a new TV.
I swore I'd never have a Samsung again after the horrific banding that plagued a previous set, so I guess I'm looking at a Sony or a Philips. But I think I'm done with OLED.

Can you let me know when you have yours as I’d be interested in what you think, pros and cons. I’m not bothered about the 4 2.1 hdmis, one will do for me.

Q94 Neo does look great.. £1800 with Cashback at John Lewis so similar price (maybe slightly more depending where you look) to the C1
How much HDR content is only in Dolby Vision (Sky, Netflix, etc)?

Only in DV, as opposed to? All DV stuff will work as regular HDR.

Ah I assumed it was one or the other - so if Netflix was Dolby Vision for example you wouldn't get hdr on the Samsung. If all dv content also works in hdr10+ and dv is just a bit better, then maybe it's not such a big issue.

It's confusing. There's HDR10, which is platform agnostic, there's Dolby Vision, and there's HDR10+. 10+ and DV are not interchangeable for the most part, unless the platform holder decides to support both. 10+ is pretty much just Samsung and Amazon for the most part. Some blu-rays as well. DV is more widely adopted by studios and streaming services, in addition to blu-rays, so while it's also a proprietary format, it's much more widely adapted than 10+. Think DVD vs Laser Disc, or Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD.
Now, if you have a TV that supports HDR, but not 10+, DV, or either, it'll play those films/series in standard HDR10. Every TV that supports HDR has HDR10 capabilities. That's what the "if you don't have a DV set, it'll convert to HDR10" comment was referring to. But 10+ is a more advanced version of 10, and as far as I'm aware, DV media on a Samsung TV will just convert it to standard HDR10, not 10+. And HDR10+ likewise isn't converted to DV, just standard 10.
tl;dr DV is much more widely adopted than 10+, so if you're going to choose, go with a DV-capable set

With the Samsung cashback offers I'm now looking at a QN94A (65 inch) with Q950A soundbar - together they're £3,298 but there's £550 cashback which brings it down to £2,748 total - that seems like a good price for a very good TV and Atmos soundbar (that complement each other well with the Symphony thing), right?

You’re into 65” C1 with Arc + Sub money there.

Actually now found that same combination for £200 cheaper
C1 with arc and sub is £3400 so over a grand more.
And from what I've read the Samsung soundbar is just as good if not better and I don't generally love Sonos. Leaning toward the neo QLED because a) it's a bright room with bifold doors and b) no risk of burn in
Ehhh mind changed again because I'm seeing how narrow the viewing angles are on the 94a and that isn't going to work for my rather awkward corner of an open plan space.

It has a tiny bit of DSE(dirty screen effect) but that is to be expected I think. Zero connection issues which I had with the 95. The consoles "just work" the pc was a bit of a faff to setup . Halo/Forza looking stunning on the Series X. Slight drawback is the single 2.1 hdmi but will get a switcher when they appear.

This is what would be the killer, I backed off this TV because I read that VA panels have poor angles but then I read that this TV specifically was actually really good. Also, do you really need 2 HDMI 2.1 inputs? Sounds like ps5 doesn't take advantage of any of the features (at least not yet).

It supports 4K120hz, and seeing as most TVs have one of their 2.1 ports on the eARC port, if you wanted to make the most use of the Dolby Atmos/DTS:X passthrough, you'd need an additional 2.1 port, one for the soundbar and the other for your PS5.

Just looked up some reviews to make sure I wasn't given false information, and you're right! Usually, the eARC port takes up one of the 2.1 ports when 2.1 is limited to a couple, but Samsung was smart and put the eARC and 2.1 on separate ports, so you should be able to use both without issue. My mistake!
