They're all pretty manageable. End of castle boss took a few retries, but then I got a few magnum rounds from a crate and made short work of him. One particular boss fight on the island went on longer than I would've liked, so I'd be very tempted to just give him a rocket to the face next time around. Krauser - would be interested to see if you can skip the many phases of that fight.

This is so good, I really want them to go back to this universe with any new RE game.

I was fucking wank at parrying. I could block but never time it for the counter. Both fights were multiple herb, battles of attrition.

Compared to their fighting games I personally thought the parrying window was quite generous, one thing I didn't expect in the game was the absolute lack of iframes when being hit which the OG had. I think I got stuck in a corner on the island and a scythe head plagas and a ganado stunlocked me.

About that, at the end of last week a streamer discovered you can kill Ramon by lobbing two golden eggs at him. Here we go: ! It's pretty hilarious given it was somewhat foreshadowed if you did the merchant request to egg Ramon's portrait in his throne room 😆.

OK I said earlier that I still prefer Dead Space, but the more I play of this, the more amazing I think it is.
Just had a nice ride on a mine cart tonight which was a lot of fun. Capcom really didn't take any shortcuts on this remake did they. There are so many different locations in this, I am constantly being surprised.
This year I feel is going to be absolutely epic for games.

Yeah the year is looking pretty stacked, it's a shame I can never find enough time to play everything I want to, damned kids and grown up responsibilities.
I've had this since launch and probably just over half way, slow progress loving every minute of it.

Got into the party room last night with the red robed enemy triggering Las Plagas in everyone and even debuffing Leon. Fantastic combat room, even giving you a reward by successfully stealthing your way up and letting the chandelier drop on the big ones and opening the fight with that. Loved the whole cult vibes going on, the chanting, very oppressive.

Yeah, that room was a definite highlight. First playthrough was just a blind panic. Second playthrough was a double tap with the rifle and then a "you're trapped in here with me" kind of massacre.

I had to back off and funnel them for the most part.
Grenades are super good in this though in that type of situation.

Remember that the flash grenades will instantly kill those tentacle heads. They always help in tight situations.

Ok question for you lot, because I don't know if I am being thick.
I have an assault rifle that I have had for a while, but I don't seem to ever pick up ammo for it and I cannot craft ammo for it. I have had about 30 bullets for it for ages and never use it.
Am I missing something here? I don't like the gun anyway because it aims down sights. I prefer to tear up shit with my SMG when I'm not popping off heads with the rifle. Spray and pray, baby!

It uses rifle ammo.

Well thats answered my question, yes i was being thick. haha. I should of noticed.
The trouble is, 1 rifle shot I would value much more than 1 assault rifle bullet. I'm not using the gun, I think I may just sell it.
Cheers Jambo

Assualt Rifle is shit and the weapon type is so necessary I can see how it could genuinely scupper some people's runs and require them to either go back to a different save or start again. Use the bolt action or other semi-auto one and chuck that shit in the bin as soon as possible.

hahaha ok. I didn't like aiming down sights anyway in a 3rd person perspective game.
What actually makes it shit though? Accuracy, power, ammo type etc? Genuinely curious. I mainly just use handgun, Shotgun, SMG and long range rifle.

Nah, that's bollocks. Bolt action rifle feels great to use and the second one can't be beat for popping heads. We were complaining about this a few pages back. It chews through ammo far too quickly for it to be a viable option. If it had the option of changing fire modes, or if it used a different more readily available type of ammo, I'd be all over it though. I guess it's OK against bosses or anything with a massive health pool, but I just got sick of wasting ammo headshotting goons.
You can equip rifle scopes on it btw

It's because of the relatively rare ammo coupled with how absolutely chews through ammo for such little payoff. The TMP and LE9 are much better auto fire weapons.

That makes sense, and ties in with my comment about valuing 1 bullet for the bolt action rifle far more than 1 bullet for the automatic rifle.
I love using the TMP/LE9 on those enemies with the wooden shields. So satisfying seeing their shield getting ripped to shreds.

I’ve got the first one fully upgraded, but I’ve not seen another one, and I am in the last chapter. Damn.

But the rifles all have first-person aiming, no?

Sorry, I meant the second rifle of any kind that you get. The semi-auto Stingray.
All rifles have a horrible steel sights kind of ADS at first before you pop a scope on them, which I'm guessing he means. Really don't like that either.

I'll use the OG in my second run as the reload is still godlike.

I felt like that was a very deliberate decision to make an extremely powerful weapon claustrophobic because in 3rd person you could just causally destroy enemies with so much FOV to watch your back.

Yeah, no problem with the rifle being FPS style. They are already god-tier in the game and third person mode with them would probably completely rid the game of any challenge.
Been watching a few early professional speed runs and the bolt action one is essentially the key to blasting through the game. It's mega.
