News is Village is getting DLC
I’m hoping it’ll be Mia based but I suspect either Chris’s team or an unnamed original victim character.
I tried watching an EG video discussing possible routes it could take but they were too busy flogging the dead horse tall vampire lady meme ad infinitum.
As long as its story content like 7 not arcadey survival runs like 2 I’ll be happy.

I'd imagine Chris DLC is the sure bet. I fear it will be like the last portion of the main game over a few hours rather than 30 mins.

8 still hasn't had a reduction in any of the usual weekly digital sales. I know because I've been watching, and there's normally a 15-20% off deal a few months after release on most games. \scrooge

Yeah, I've not actually went through 8 yet. Loved the move to first person with 7, but was slightly put off by comments on the more 'actiony' second half of 8. Will definitely pick it up at some point though -- likely when the base game hits c.€20.

I just replay 2 and 3 ad infinitum. I can't handle the switch to 1st person, too scary!

In cardboard news the Resi 1 board game got revealed today, Kickstarter goes live later this month. I have full Kickstarter versions of 2 and 3, and they’re good solid dice chucking dungeon crawls that nail the feel of the games.

I've had the Resi 3 remake sitting around for ages and I fired it up last night. I was surprised how good it was considering the amount of hate it got.
I've not played 8 yet. I liked 7 but I still prefer the 3rd person view.

I liked 7 but I still prefer the 3rd person view. I genuinely wasn't all that sold on the second. Still prefer REmake and 0. 7 was fine enough, but it was one of those games that made me think there's got to be a better way in certain genres than boss fights. Combined with the glacial movement speed, I didn't enjoy them at all, though they were less of a pain in VR. Which is possibly my favourite VR experience as of yet.

I didn't get the hate for RE3make particularly, but I think a lot of it was simply because the game is short.
I wouldn't have mind them spending another year on it and making it a bit bigger and adding another puzzle type area, just for variety.
The game is very fast paced and action orientated. Could have done with the clocktower or something to slow it down a bit.

I really enjoyed 7, the enemies and bosses were rather shit though. My favourite was Jack and the car, but that was blatantly some universal studios type set piece for the VR, rather than a proper boss fight. Big jack, his wife, and the end boss are all pretty bad. The house and puzzles were top notch though. Shame they didn't just go the whole hog and have slow zombies in it, because the moulded were garbage.

7 in VR made me a sweaty sick mess! I tried it with different options but I just couldn't adjust to the motion without feeling like absolute shit.
Gutted really because the Kitchen demo was brilliant (I guess I was fine with that because there was no movement).

Yeah the RE3 remake is excellent. I don't get the dislike for it either.

Yeah the RE3 remake is excellent. I don't get the dislike for it either. I think it's because it was being compared to REmake 2 and they cut parts of the game out (clocktower)

And it's more action focused than 2.

But it was always a shorter more action focussed game than 2. And the new version was fun (apart from the horde mode section).

I haven't got around to 3 yet but I've got it sat in my library. I'm to understand the Nemesis bits are a bit more scripted than Mr. X in RE2? The topic has been done to death but I can't be arsed being followed around in one more of these just yet.

Yeah, he pops up at certain points to rush you along. Not as shit yourself scary but he's not meant to be.
It's a good game though, well worth a play through.

Aye I'm saving it for a quiet Friday evening when I can switch the lights off, have a few beers and immerse myself. I played 2, 7 and 8 quite close together earlier this year so I've had my fill of the stalking stuff for a while. I'll take a more actiony one all day long.

RE3R was awesome but I love all RE except for 6 so I’m no barometer of what’s good or bad
RE8 is also a brilliant game, there are a few bits that dip but overall it’s well worth playing

8 has the scariest bit of all the games, it made me nearly cry. I had to pysche myself up for a week to get through it.

No?
