richyrooI wouldn't hold my breath. Village had similar issues and never got patched. It's pretty jarring at first, but just becomes second nature after a while.

I've binned off RE4 Remake after chapter 2 until they fix the controller dead zone issue on the Xbox version. It is so intrusive that I don't want to ruin my first playthrough of the game. How this issue went unnoticed by Capcom I have no idea. They haven't even acknowledged there is an issue yet have they despite their twitter being absolutely hammered with it. I wouldnt hold your breath that they are going to do anything.

Flying through it on my second playthough. Trying to collect everything this time around as I bottled a lot of optional encounters last time out to conserve ammo.

This evening I sold all my weapons and bought the infinite RPG. Really is god mode with that thing. It's like 2 million right? Yeah, God knows how long it would take to save that without selling! Made a separate save to mess around with it. Very amusing - you don't even have to reload.

Dear lord. I downloaded the demo for ps4, defo time for a ps5. It was not good and my poor base ps4 nearly exploded.
Cant believe how much effort has gone into this. Even just in that opening section. It's completly different.

Recently I've only realised that resident evil games have copious amounts of ammo, it never leaves you in a situation without ammo, I think Resi 4 for example is one of those few 3rd person shooter games that makes you use every item and weapon you have, nothing goes to waste as there's always a weapon for every situation.

If you're going for the achievements then be careful as some sections can't be returned to afterwards. I'll probably do a third run with the infinite launcher to get all items It's such an infinitely replayable game. Brings me back to the days of starting the original again straight after a run with my dickhead German flatmate. Resi 4 was just about the only thing we saw eye to eye on.

Good news (for me).
I have an 8bitdo Ultimate controller for my Series X. I can change the sticks deadzone values in the Ultimate software and it has made it much more responsive.
Just been testing it the last few mins and while not perfect (the corners of the sticks feel a bit off),it is a definite improvement. Looking forward to getting back into this tonight.

You can do it with the elite controller too in fairness, but I keep forgetting to try and only found out after my first playthrough.

Anyone know anywhere I can get a ps5 digital code for this cheaper than 55 quid? Cdkeys only have an Xbox one

Didn't Sony stop doing codes for games a while ago? Physical not an option instead? You can get codes for PS5 on cdkeys but only for 1st party games but only well after release.

OK I played this far too much today, managed to reach the castle.
I have died quite a few times. It's harder then I remember it and I'm playing on normal.
Makes for a nice challenge, I am finding this harder on normal than the Dead Space Remake on hard.
Game of the year contender for sure, although I think I still prefer Dead Space. The controls in that game are so tight and the weapons so fun.

How many Resident Evil games are available on PS4/5? Am I right in thinking it's all the main ones - i.e. 1 through Village - plus Revelations 1 and 2?

Yeah, I would've said all of them seeing as they've rereleased 5, and 6 and Code Veronica. Not so sure about the PS1 originals of 1, 2 and 3 though.
Any spin off that's missing probably shouldn't be worried about too much.

Finished. What a game! That was excellent throughout and a great example of how to do a remake, with lots of excellent set pieces and lovely detailed areas packed with action. Plenty of bang for your buck too as 4's longevity was maintained for the remake and the variety of areas keeps it feeling fresh anyway. Those Regenerators can do one though, they freak me out... /shivers. I managed a few other bits and bobs before completing, like all S-Rank in the shooting range and completing all merchant requests, but I doubt I'll ever be able to complete RE4R from start to finish with no healing or lack of merchant, but good luck to those who can! It's pretty obvious that there's also going to be dlc, likely starring Ada, given certain OG RE4 bosses weren't encountered like Pesanta, the other bodyguard of Ramon who originally fused with him, or U-III in the mines. Also the bit near the end in Saddler's 'sanctum', where Ada opens fire on him with the machine gun to save Leon, and he drops some sort of spores from his hand whilst he stares at her as the other two escape the room. Nice cameo by you know who at the end too ! Looking forward to Mercenaries mode whenever that arrives, as it was always good fun.

I’m not up to that but, but if it’s analogous to the original, those are the bullets he’s dropping from his hands.

I honestly couldn't remember much of the latter part of the original RE4.

It's one of the rooms I like to stay in, because it's easy to maneuver, so I never get ambushed. Plus it's ace fun with the scoped rifle in there.
Though I did accidentally shoot Ashley in the face when her pathfinding went a bit weird, but that just means I get to have another go and shoot them all again, yay!
And I've started upgrading things now, finally. Using the riot gun, red9+stock and the scoped rifle for this run. I am saving 50k here and there though for the rpg for annoying bosses if I need it.

What bosses need the RPG? On standard they all seem challenging but definitely beatable without a Rocket launcher. You can do a surprising amount with some patience and a pistol. I'm in chapter 12 I think so perhaps I just haven't seen the worst bastards yet. I played and finished RE4 Original and all I remember from the castle were the dungeon guy, shield fuckers and the courtyard. The rest of this game might as well be new.
