Played up to the end of the cabin and into the next chapter. The only complaint I really have at this point? Why is Ada's voice so bad? Getting strong flashbacks of Ronda Rousey as Sonya Blade in the latest MK where she just basically sounded like a first take read from a script. Particularly stands out when Leon, Ashley, Luis even the Merchant are all decent

Red9 ended up being my favourite handgun - fully upgraded it's lethal and carries you through the combat-heavy ending chapters. It's like a small rifle but definitely benefits from the stock. I didn't like it at first.

Late to the party guys, just started playing this last night on Series X. Managed to play up until the end of chapter 2, very much enjoying it so far. However..... The reported dead zones on the thumb sticks in the xbox version is very much a thing. The aiming feels very sluggish. I have an 8bitdo Xbox Ultimate controller, so I am going to try that tonight. I believe you can adjust the dead zones through the ultimate software, which I am hoping will fix the dead zone issue. If not, I may (not sure yet) bin it off until they hopefully fix the issue. I would rather have a decent first experience without it being tarnished by control issues.
Why couldn't they just implement the control scheme from Dead Space Remake. That would have been perfect for this game too, I miss not being able to run backwards.

Yeah, the description makes it sound like it uses something else but it's just regular handgun ammo.
Took down the mutt earlier, so will probably just carry on with this run and focus on doing all side jobs and getting all guns fully pimped + a stockpile of small keys for my next run, where I'll finally get all items. I bloody love this game!

Just finished the cabin lock down, ended up using most of my ammo and health, I've avoided using flashbangs up til now but they're actually really useful aren't they?

Yeah, they're really useful if you're getting mobbed - gives you enough time to sort the situation out

Fucking hell, there are a few sections in a row on this island bit that seem to absolutely put you on the edge with ammo. Had to resort to running around Benny Hill style in one bit there.
Is there a way of making that assualt rifle semi auto? I've made a grave error selling off the other one as this has absolutely fucked me for ammo that is essential for a certain enemy.

I couldn't find a way to, and was no wiser after googling. Doesn't even seem to work even if you gently squeeze the trigger. Chews through ammo like crazy, that one.
If you buy guns back from the last tab they come with all of the upgrades you've already purchased, and they're not terrible value.

Yeah I'll be going back to the semi auto one after this playthough. It has made getting through those guys even more of a nightmare than it should have.

Finally cleared The 4th Survivor mode from RE2 Remake. That was really hard and I don't want to do it again. Very good for tension though.
(turns out 10% of players has the achievement on Steam, so maybe it's not considered as hard as I thought?)

How is the assault rifle now automatic. But yeah I spunked so much ammo on that section, it was kinda silly.

The CQBR assault rifle is the new one we're talking about. It just feels silly to use, given how expensive to make and hard to come by rifle ammo is. It would be ridiculously nasty with infinite ammo, though.
The Stingray is still fantastic (just used it to breeze through the water room on playthrough 2)

Got Red9 now, so I might stick with that. It bloody wavers about a lot though. Still can't decide. Just need to get to the bloody castle now! I'm using the Red9 quad and it's pretty sweet once upgraded. I spent 30 spinels on getting the upgrade ticket as well and used it on my not yet fully upgraded Red9 for x1.5 extra damage and it is doing the business! Definetly get the stock asap though, as it helps improve the aiming stability quite a bit. I've also switched from the pre-order bonus Gold briefcase that increased peseta drops, which I've used for most of the game so far and has been useful for upgrade costs, back to the original starter case that increases handgun ammo drops as it has helped me keep the Red9 topped up.

There is no breezing the water room. Only surviving until next time.
Think I'm at the end here. Been living in ammo debt since bags room, which to my utter horror I had to somehow finish with a knife.

I had the same experience, I think it was user Mark who said he was playing God mode effectively near the end which was not my experience. However I had 15 bullets for the Killer 7 for the last boss at 24 damage per shit, saved my fucking ass as I had no herbs left.

I had to use explosive barrels and my very best Scooby Doo running. I also fell off a drawbridge first try.
That was absolutely excellent start to finish. Going to see what goodies I've unlocked and get straight into another playthough. 16 hours that took me.

Just did the infamous water room tonight actually. Wasn't too bad, but those giant tentacled head wankers that attach themselves to the ceiling can fucking do one, had my head taken clean off several times tonight.
The segment after that really annoyed me however, the one with the red cloaked dude and the lantern you have to fetch. Got the lantern fairly quickish but felt compelled to finish everyone off rather than leg it, literally took every piece of ammo I had.

I've binned off RE4 Remake after chapter 2 until they fix the controller dead zone issue on the Xbox version. It is so intrusive that I don't want to ruin my first playthrough of the game.
How this issue went unnoticed by Capcom I have no idea.
