Finally got to Ashley then immediately remembered how much I hate escort missions.
I can remember barely anything from the original, is this section long?

I remember getting this the first time it came out and never got very far for some reason, think I got Zelda at the same time then never came back to this.
Got it on steam deck now and just played for 90 minutes without even realising it had been so long. It runs really well on the deck too.

Aaaaaand FINISHED. One of the best games I've played in a while, as if they remade a stone cold classic into another stone cold classic, I guess when I replay Resi 4 I'll be playing this version from now on.

What I can't understand is why I can't put standard stuff in storage. I can only put first aid sprays and guns into storage. Why can't I put stuff like herbs or mats into storage?

Wow, that Knight Fight was fucking nuts. My very last bullet killed the very last one.
I’m regretting I didn’t immediately do the shooting gallery back at the village, because the charms probably would have helped conserve ammo.
Having a much easier time finding small keys in this. I found very few lockpicks in Viilage across two play throughs.

aubergine there are more shooting galleries in the game and they all have the old ones in them too, so you can't miss any. You should be able to backtrack to one in the castle now. I didn't realise there were points of no return within each section of this. Missed a couple of items in the abandoned factory near the start, and now can't seem to get back there after getting past the church. So much for my all items run! The mutt side quest also seems to be bugged for me, so this seems to be a cursed mop up run...

Yeah he isn't there, he is in a completely different area and it doesn't do a great job of giving you a clue. I heard a noise but that just confused me even more.

Is it worth switching out the starter pistol for the Punisher? Although the Punisher item description implies it's more powerful the stats say otherwise as a fully upgraded starter packs more punch than the Punisher.

The Punisher goes through enemies and armour; if for some reason you needed that which of course you wouldn't what with the enemies being mindless (not) zombies.

Does penetration work for metal shields later in the game? Could be extremely useful if so.
I kind of regret moving away from the fully upgraded starter to blacktail. The laser sight just makes it so much better.

Not sure if the armour piercing works on the metal shields, I'm leaning towards probably not as it doesn't seem to get through metal helmets either.
Fortunately those guys start appearing when it begins to get a tiny bit more generous with ammo. Although I'm still using the shoot kneecap/melee or suplex method.

They'll sometimes spin around when you stun them. I'm not sure if there's a specific place you shoot them to get them to do that or it's just RNG. I always go for the legs, don't even bother with headshots unless it's a power weapon.

The dog will stare at you from the gate when you leave and then run off, and the actual fight takes place in the village proper. When I did it, it meant that my return to the village with Ashley was the most fuck-off difficult fight, as I was very low on ammo. Had to try and get as many enemies into one grenade blast as possible. |

I stumbled across the one in the castle by accident and didn't find that too bad.
Cheers guys. I'm totally tooled up, so hopefully won't be too bad. Unloading a full clip of the upgraded second SMG right in their face seems to be my favourite tactic for opening boss fights on NG+.

Yeah, I've spooned this run too, as I also left something in the abandoned factory. Tried to go back but it's physically blocked off, so that's fucked.
Got Red9 now, so I might stick with that. It bloody wavers about a lot though. Still can't decide. Just need to get to the bloody castle now!
Done the church and so got Ashley with me now. Here we bloody go - she got incapacitated within 10 seconds of the first enemy encounter. Sigh.
