Threw all of mine at a big fella in a panic. This mirrors my entire playthough thus far.

I think I had 7 nades stockpiled at one point and used them all in one of the later fights in the village with two hardasses. Was quite fun just constantly stunlocking them!
Can't wait to get home to finish it off tonight and jump straight into NG+. One of those rare games that even when I'm not playing it I'm always thinking about it.

Yeah me too, like I'm in a lesson and I'd rather be doing roundhouses on Ganados. The best bit for me is now having a greater understanding of Spanish so I know what all the enemies say. They call Leon an asshole. A LOT.

Worst part of it is after panic spamming 4 nades, 8 shotgun shells and spraying my TMP around like a lunatic; I'll then calmly pop 3 plagas and a parasite crit spot with like 9 handgun rounds remaining as serenely as anything. Having more ammo has the reverse effect on me.

To be fair I don't think I got as far as the actual setpiece as it just felt a bit crappy to control and didn't look very pretty, especially up against my expectations from the RE2 remake. Also to be fair I had just got my PSVR2 and didn't want to waste too much time on Gaming 1.0. That was always my bugbear with RE4. Too many action oriented setpieces with a control scheme and responsiveness that hinders more than it helps. From what I played of the demo they hadn't improved it to the point where these moments would actually be enjoyable. Glad to see I'm not the only person who feels like this. I've only played a couple of chapters of the re-make, but the controls just aren't good enough for the action sequences (and the whole game is obviously very action oriented). But there's almost universal praise elsewhere.

It's probably because you get obsessed with headshotting everything, and a controller is never going to be super accurate for that. The wii version almost had it bang on.
I'm getting used to it now, but there's a definite feeling that the aiming could be better, but it's not going to change and I'm not missing out on shotgunning these bastards again in high res.

I made a silly mistake, sold the rifle scope, thinking I could just get another one later. That is not a thing. When I got to the castle I was really regretting it. I’ve taken a break from the game at the water room as it’s fucking ruining me to deal with all these bastards without the scope.

One thing I wonder is whether Capcom will ever continue from the Resident Evil 6 timeline eventually. Maybe they will just treat it like DMC2 and pretend that it takes place after everything else, even future sequels.

So it goes DMC 3, DMC, DMC 4, DMC 2, DMC 5. As far as I know Resi 8 is the most current in the timeline.

Didn't DMC2 originally take place like a hundred years in the future or something? It sure was a convenient way of getting it out of their minds, lol.

I'd say people don't care too much about the RE story but after seeing all the films, spin-offs and the like they've produced these last couple of decades I think I'm firmly in the minority.

Yeah it's a weird one but tbf I think most if not all fans pretend DMC 2 doesn't exist. I think it was near future but not far flung. But anyway I was wrong, DMC 2 is set between 1 and 4.

It's weird, I guess I'd go so far as to say that it's not so much the story that people care about the series but the characters.

Agree, there's something endearing about them, warts and all.

I've got choice paralysis on what gun to upgrade. There's definitely another shotgun later on isn't there? Yep, I've swapped out the OG shotgun from the village for the Riot Gun, which is pretty awesome so I'm going to focus on levelling that as my go-to boomstick. I just need more shotgun ammo!

The second shotgun in RE4 was always the good one I thought.
When I’d play the original I’d upgrade no guns at all until reaching the castle, and spend the savings on a total new load out.
I’m not as happy with the Blacktail so far in this, the laser sight not being default is disappointing.

Uh, boss in chapter 6 is a bit shit on hardcore, especially if you go into the fight empty-handed. At least fill up my health if I die and get back to the checkpoint, come on. Was too frustrating last night, so I started another playthrough in standard, which almost feels like a different game. I finished the first 3 chapters in one sitting and died once. Bit shitty that you can't drop the difficulty on the fly, I'd like to keep playing on hardcore, but not with the bosses I know still await me.

Feels especially shitty considering they pretty much tell you that hardcore is the way it's meant to be played if you've played the original.
I probably would've abandoned it if I'd made the mistake of starting on hardcore. Doubt I'd even have made it to that boss fight (which was a bitch on normal)

Besides, just because I've played or even finished the original, doesn't necessarily mean that I was any good at it. Professional mode always kicked my ass.
