Fuck it. I had to try it didn't I? Yeah to echo Frog the aiming is absolutely fucked until I changed it myself and then it was perfect, puzzled as to why they just didn't copy the aiming curve from the previous remakes.
Anyway, that village fight was quite intense but I did it on the first go, people have remarked that it feels difficult but I actually feel that OG opening was as aggressive as this and it's been so long since it first came out it's hard to compare.
All that matters is that I parried a chainsaw so I'm all in day one.

I played the last remake they did, on PS4 possibly? Thought it was garbage to be honest. Awful controls and the wacky Japanese side of RE really doesn't do it for me and this seems to double down on it.

It's not just this game with shit aiming, people seem to have real troubles with introducing decent feeling aiming in games where you shoot at the moment on console. Outriders was bloody awful at launch trying to hit anything on a pad too, atomic heart is a bit like it too. Just make your game aim like the division, if ubisoft can do it then so can you.
I shall try your settings Jambo and if they don't work I will be visiting a witch doctor to make them give you an ingrown toenail.

This whole run of Resi games has been handled incredibly well. Demos, standalone content, free dlc, single-player story dlc, complete games launched in a polished finished state without the need extensive patching. For me 7 onwards has been astonishing for such a big publisher and series* *although why they continue to try and make multiplayer titles is absolutely baffling, no one wants them |

The aiming is fucking awful, not sure how you can argue it isn't really. Might have to download the pc version to see if it's better on keyboard and mouse. I had no issues with aiming on Series X. Its a bit heavy, but assumed that was intentional so you don't just obliterte everything in seconds, like the old Wii version. I'm very much looking forward to playing this. Just to see the changes they've made and if it'll suprise me. Edit - Removed spoiler. |

That combined with it being 3 headshots to drop someone and their movement being quite erratic and it just didn't feel good to me. He is supposed to be an elite trained soldier and it feels like he has milkfloat aiming.

The headshot thing in Resi games is really annoying. Even started to drop down to easy as it sorts the headshot issue out while still being scary enough.
Bullet sponge enemies can get fucked.

If people haven’t seen this already, you can unlock a TMP for the demo. I’ve tested and it works. After killing the basement dude, discard everything from your inventory. Sneak or run past everyone until you get to the village, don’t pick up any items. You can sneak around to one of the two covered wells (I go right up the hill then behind the cow barn) which are now open. Go down the ladder, grab the TMP and ammo. The TMP will now be in your inventory when you start a new play, too.

Yeah thought it would review rather well. There's a lot of love for RE4 and if they did the type of job they did of the other two RE-makes then it's a no brainer.
Not for me though. This cat is waiting for a sale. It's just too silly for me, not matter how lovely it looks.

JambowayohShameful gaming confession: I've never actually played a Resident Evil game. I reckon I'd start with 7, or maybe the remake of 2, were I to go down that route; as things stand, I'm planning to start The Witcher 3 this evening, so it'll be a while before I'm in the market for anything else to play! I know the RE4 remake was hotly anticipated, though, and I'm glad to see how well it has been received by the critics.
