Did the castle, then I think I'm up to the bienvento House I think As much as I like and highly rate the game overall those are probably the best two zones so you should persevere a little longer.

I never read anything about games other than here so I’ve only just found out - via the last page - about third person mode in RE Village!
Does it make the game feel a lot like RE4?
I want to start Deathloop but I might put it on hold for now

I think you have to pay for the third person mode as part of this DLC just released.

I don’t mind paying for the DLC, I’ve completed the main game four or five times already but I’d like an excuse to play it again, especially if it plays a little like RE4

It definitely has a different feel in 3rd person. You probably could say it feels more like re4 yeah, just as much as the re2&3 remakes

Mmm, the movement and looseness of control kinda feels more like Resi 6 to me :/

Nah it's not even close to the butter fest that was RE6. I fucking hate that game.

Every time we get into the 6 bashing on here I sort of want to replay it just to see how it holds up. I expect terribly since the main series games and remakes since then are the strongest run they’ve had since the PS1

I thought the same and played it last year.
All I can say is... Don't. Fucking hell. Don't.

It deserves it’s terrible reputation. I only completed it on PS4 about a year or so ago after about 10 previous attempts on PS3, where I just gave up as it was too depressing
The main issue for me is it didn’t really feel like I was playing a game. It was just mindlessly spamming through every encounter on to the next just to get it over and done with
The feel was just totally off, like when you’d shoot an enemy and they’d almost sort of melt - a very weird game
Some of the boss encounters too where you’d fire about a million bullets with no idea whether they were actually doing any damage or not
They should remake it with a proper engine, proper physics and feedback to the player so you know that your actions are actually doing something

I don't think 6 was that bad, certainly not unplayable. I'm sure I played it through a couple of times and found it fun enough. Leon's campaign was decent. I think the biggest issue I had with it was that there was just too much; 4 campaigns, jumping about all over the world, every vehicle section imaginable, everything crashing or exploding, completely OTT even for Resi. It's like they didn't really have an idea of what to do so they just did everything

Which, weirdly, is kind of the ethos they're still going by. Adding a bit of everything. Only because they've toned it all down it works a lot better. The stuff I hate in Village is all the stuff that they introduced in 4 and carried on through 5 and 6. The weapon upgrading, the shop stuff, the enemies dropping currency and shit. I can live without all that pish if I'm being honest. That said it's not TOO bad in Village, but my god in 6 it was all over the place. 6 also has the most hilarious unintuitive inventory and options menus I've ever encountered in a game. Even thinking about them now stresses me out. They couldn't even get that right.

At least they were able to repurpose the levels from 6 for Raid Mode in Rev 2 and I really liked that

This is some top tier RE dialogue though
'No, not particularly a fan. Is that a problem...?'
What is he accusing her of?
I also like the scene where Leon and Chris face off. I think those are probably the high points

In defense of RE6. The first part of Leon's campaign is actually decent, which is common knowledge.
However, I forgot that even that nosedives once you get underground and fight thingies naked mutant sister. In fact, even before that, when you fight the boob monster in the church.
Basically the university campus is great, everything else is balls.

Most, if not all, the cgi animated movies and the four part series on Netflix are direct sequels to 6 and they’re all dumbly watchable.

You know what, talking of this stuff. I've never seen the new film. I might watch it this evening as I have the house to myself for a few hours. I'm not expecting anything great, but I'm in the mood.

Welcome to Raccoon City?
I’d say give it a go. Its as faithful as any film could be even with the miscast characters and high end fan film cinematography
