It gets worse. But the thing is I can kind of relate… Maybe it’s just me but I had slightly obsessive girlfriends and made a lot of the same mistakes…
I found paying for a ticket back to Australia helped. Even if they weren’t from there in the first place.
Edit: New page OF COURSE.

I'm currently going through the entire series of King of the Hill. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I kind of wish it was on Disney+ though..

Shogun finale was both anticlimactic and yet perfect.

Started Blue Lights. Bit like Line of Duty, but more grounded and less shit. It's a BBC drama so the look and feel will be familiar, but the characters are good and I think it might get nasty.

My hopes are high for that. There's so much they could do with the Hills in modern day America. I don't think they're intolerant enough to be full-blown MAGA cap wearers, but there's also no way Hank would ever vote Democrat.
They say Johnny Hardwick did complete some episodes as Dale before he passed. I'm assuming they'll retire the character so that'll be bitter-sweet (although my money is on Dale being Qanon... how could he not be?)

I watched an episode the other day where Peggy finally realises that Dale's son isn't his. They touch on Dale sort of knowing up to that point, which is fairly obvious anyway, but I think that's the beauty of the show, as it has some fairly deep topics. Dale probably doesn't want to get a divorce, and is happy being with his 'son' and drinking beer.

Dale’s already been kinda there with the conspiracy stuff so I think it might be fun if he’s the one who deprogrammes someone like Bill. Although he’d probably do it by uncovering a deeper theory.
Doing a properly grown up animated show like this was really ahead of its time when you look at whats followed. Its a shame its not been more widely available in the streaming era. Real potential for a big second life and rediscovery.

I think the biggest flag that Dale knew all along was in the final episode. I can't remember exactly what it was but he said something that let on.
That being said, KoTH did occasionally double back on its own continuity. There was an episode where Dale was convinced Joseph was the result of an alien impregnation. And there's a whole thing about how Peggy's relationship with her mother gets completely rewritten.

There was an excellent episode of Brian Johnson: A Life on the Road with Knopfler, the chemistry between them was great and it was as entertaining as it was informative. Will have to check this new series out.

Considering how massive Dire Straits were Knopfler has a real low public profile. Its funny seeing how he gets on with Brian Johnson since although they’re both big rockstars they’re such completely different kinds of Geordie.
My dad’s from the same part of the city as Knopfler and its easy to forget that he’s the one member of my family who is actually a born in the city true Geordie in the family its so far from the stereotype of the city and its people.
Johnson, of course, is exactly what you’d expect.

They watch a lot of shit as well as the good stuff, so it is hard to filter sometimes.

Just watched the first episode and it seems solid so far. Early Line of Duty levels of quality.
+1 for being an in-law recommendation that I was prepared to discount.

Probsbly not paying it the attention it deserves, might have to rewatch the first 2 episodes. Also watching Loot which also has Radiator Dried Tom Cruise, thats pretty good. Also started Trying which fills the heartwarming funny with the missus vacancy

Miriam: Death of a Reality Star
I was living in Canada when There’s Something About Miriam was on. I was enjoying wholesome shows like The Amazing Race and ReBoot.
So you feel guilty about something for once, damn it.

This feels like an obvious thing to say but I’ve got the first episode of the Adam & Joe Show (on 4OD thanks for asking) and every segment is basically a full genre of youtube channel or social media empire now. Only its from 1996 so only 6Music types are into it.
If only they’d added hating women and narrating video games they’d be billionaires by now.

I rewatch bits of Adam & Joe occasionally. Their DVD design was a labour of love. It's still charmingly lo-fi, thankfully without too many 90s attitudes tripping them up.
They are remembered for the toy parodies but I think their live action stuff has held up much better.
Big fan of People Place, 1980s House, Room for Change and Ken Korda. Their hidden camera stunts remain pretty funny too.
It's kind of a shame that Joe Cornish got Hollywood successful so they can't collaborate much anymore. There was something unique about them as a duo when given free rein to be creatively silly.

Watching Sugar on Apple TV with Colin Farrell. It started off very well, an LA Confidential feel with Farrell’s Private eye searching for a missing film producers daughter. There’s old movies spliced into the action and it has a noir feel. Then it went a little stale and slow. I’ve just watched Ep 6 and there’s a real wtaf? moment. It’s a cautious recommendation at this point and I’ll definitely finish it, new episodes are released on Friday
