If it helps the nurse probably thought nothing of it and has similar exchanges multiple times a day. They’re used to it. This. Leave your pride or shame at the door, they have seen it all.

I had need to go to an STI clinic about a decade ago, fuck me that was a grim/depressing place, it was a city centre one and was packed with cubicles with students and al-sorts getting their bits checked out, then sent away with a brown paper bag of goodies under your arm. After some heavy duty invasive interrogating they put it down to me having used shower gel on the old chap instead of just water, what with me being the faithful chap I am. I still don't think they believed me. Luckily my appointment is actually at my normal Gp surgery. It’s just getting in and out without seeing anyone and hoping “SEXUAL HEALTH CLINIC” isn’t written in large letters on the door. I can imagine it being pretty grim though.

Wizzard_OokIt dates back a good few years tbh. Just various wee issues. All the serious stuff got looked at and resolved last year but it's just this niggle that bothers me sometimes now (my bladder doesn't empty as much as it should sometimes), but all scans / tests etc point to nothing major. The specialist actually came up with a good analogy today that helped put my mind at ease (I always thought it was due to an obstruction or some sort of blockage, but it's not, it's my big big bladder just not contracting enough because I keep filling it up with wee wee). What you have sounds concerning but you're going through all the right steps getting it looked into. These things can (and quite often) turn out not to be as bad as what our mind conjures, but always better to get it seen to. Hopefully the anti-bios sort you out and it's nothing more than a bit of inflammation.

She then warned that I may get a "big floppy bladder" when I'm 80. So. This has been an interesting day then. On the plus side if you ever fancy a change of username, big floppy bladder is right there.

I’m about 90% certain my hiatal hernia has fully pushed into my chest cavity. Finding it very hard to take a full breath and get very tight chested after eating or drinking anything. Manometry booked for Monday, Upper GI on Wednesday, then review if I need surgery and if so how urgently. Fun times.

I'm a staunch believer in body organs staying in their designated areas. I don't want a hernia

Been off 6 weeks now with a torn rotator cuff and just been signed off for another 3 and been referred to a specialist. Was making some good progress with the physio but for some reason in the last week the pain has got really bad again. Fortunately my work are being great about it and really supportive. Hoping the specialist can give me a steroid injection to get through it so I can get back working as soon as possible.

Had to google that one as never heard of that, google hasn't been very helpful tbh but it does sound bloody painful, do you have a physical job? A fair few years ago I had a stiff shoulder whereby it's movement became restricted, my doc sent me off to physio and literally within about two minutes of the appointment the physio said it was a frozen shoulder and no physio whatsoever would help. She then said that she had just qualified as an acupuncturist and would I be wiling to give it a go. I did give it a go and despite being a life long fully paid up skeptic of any such treatments and mumbo jumbo and the like within about half an hour I was a convert, pain reduced by masses. I'd not hesitate to have acupuncture again, might be worth seeing if you can get some on the NHS?

I do have a physical job which is why I've been off so long. The physio thinks I might be developing a frozen shoulder as well, hence the referral to a specialist. Basically the inflammation is just not clearing at the moment which is why I can't work.

That sucks frog. Have had various shoulder issues (both impingements) over the last 3 or 4 years but I don't have a physical job. The left one took 2 steroid injections and physio. The right I just did the same exercises and rested it and it's kinda fine. Both weak as piss but at least I can swim again and put a shirt on without wincing! Good luck mate.

Thanks chaps.
That's one of the things I noticed most Dougs, a real lack of strength compared to what I'm used to, I can normally throw some quite heavy stuff around for fun but it's just not there at the moment.

It's lateral movement that I struggle with. Can't lift my arms even up to shoulder level. It's pathetic. Every joint is fucked in one way or another...always had crap ankles, which has led to crap knees and now shoulders!

I can get it level but not without pain, I was making some good progress but that seems not to be the case now.

Been feeling a bit off this week. Had a weird light headed feeling at the start of the week, like I might faint (but didn't). Was a tad hungover and maybe I had gotten up too quickly, idk. Last time I can't like that was when I had my Covid jab. But it passed, but then had a similar feeling yesterday. Not quite as bad, but just a light headedness and anxious feeling.
Trying to contact my GP but that's fucking cluster fuck. Can't even book an online consultation until next week - as in bookings don't reopen until Monday. Guess I'll just wait until then.
But yeah, the anxiety about what if something is wrong is really frustrating. What could it be? Diabetes? Silent heart attack? Something less severe like fatigue and dehydration? Could be any of those. Hopefully I won't just keel over during the weekend.

If the symptoms persisted I would, but I do feel fine most of the time (I mean, ignoring the usual aches and pains).
I'll try giving the GP a ring once they open, I think it might just be the online booking thing that's borked.

drhickman1983 – Weird. I had a similar feeling Thursday last week. I was driving the family in the car at the time, and honestly felt that I needed to pull over, but it passed as quickly as it went. Seemed to come with palpitations. My only significant underlying medical conditions are hypertension, high cholesterol (both treated) and recently-discovered gluten intolerance. A few days later, over the weekend, we started with nasty colds, the ten year old especially. COVID tests all ‘round, and no positives. Good luck!

Yeah, that very much sounds like what I had, more eloquently described. I'll still try and get some time in with my GP. Who I've never actually met before, as I only registered with this new place a few months ago. Feel pretty okay today, though do have a head cold.

I’m getting Invisalign, which sounds like it’ll be fun. Teeth are mostly fine, but the top and bottom front teeth angle inward, meaning they grind on each other and they’re getting some damage going on there.
