Crawled out of bed and had a litre of water. Still feel like I've had a half dozen beers, but I'll see if this helps. Getting old sucks.

Yeah.
When I'm clear minded enough, I try to get at least two glasses of water in me and a painkiller before going to bed.
But yeah, hangovers are MUCH worse as you age.

Ah ha... I've now got a migraine and the right side of my face numb, so I guess this is a vestibular migraine. I'll tick that one off in my growing book of "things I've maybe had according to Dr Google". I've taken zolmitriptan and hopefully that will sort all this out as I've better things to do at 4am.

Thanks. It's not a hangover as it's been a few years since I've had an alcoholic drink (because of how bad hangovers felt at I got older like you said), but I think it's either lack of liquid or the cheese I had for tea (hence the migraine). It might be a bit of both.
Lol.I've now got a sneezing fit, which is not what you want with a migraine and dizziness 🙂.
Anyway, guess I'll live a bit longer. I'm going to try and sleep again, let the pill do it's thing and hopefully feel better when I wake. Waking like I did was unpleasant.

Spent almost all yesterday in bed due to the world spinning around me. I'm a bit better today, but not 100%. Whatever is causing this, I hope it clears off soon and never comes back.
Edit: the pill took away some of the pain, bit left a very dry mouth and more nausea in its wake, so I'm not taking those again.

Diagnosed with BPPV, which it looks like I might be able to treat myself. Basically my inner ear has decided it wants to act like a marble maze for some calcium which I need to get back into the right area of my ear. Until then, this calcium is making my brain think I'm moving long after I stop.

Aren't there some special "manoeuvres" that can help with that?

Wife was off work for weeks with that last year. Took 3 or 4 months to fully clear up. Either the dislodged crystals find their way back or you have to wait for them to dissolve. There are exercises which help.

I've tried the exercises twice so far.
Second time, when I assume I did it right, it was pretty horrible, which is how it's supposedly supposed to be. I've still got the vertigo, but it confirmed that it's BPPV (your eyes twitch when you do it) and hopefully more exercise will sort it. If not, I've been told a couple of weeks most likely. Can't drive until then and it sucks that I'm on leave tomorrow.

Thankfully it looks like the Epley Maneuver has mostly sorted me. It was unpleasant doing it, but I've now only got very mild symptoms which I can cope with and those will supposedly clear up.

With all the scariest tests coming back negative so far the doctor is moving me onto a low FODMAP diet while more tests happen
As a lazy vegetarian being put on a no wheat and limited veg diet is going to seriously reduce my options. Unless I can just live on crisps.

Some insect has bitten me whilst out on my bike on monday. As of yesterday, it appears to have a red circle around the bite.
Germolene does not appear to be touching it much. May have to try to call a doctor at this rate.
Wonder how that'll go?
Hopefully, it'll start contracting again tonight, otherwise I will be trying to ring the docs. Can pharmacists give out antibiotics if need be these days?

My sugar levels are way too high. Should be around 46 or so and I'm currently on 72.
Been prescribed extra meds but had a very long chat with nurse. Time for a complete change in my diet and get more exercise. Next round of tests in December.
Edit: On the positive side, my blood pressure has come down a fair bit.

I'd recommend heading out on a bike, but with blood that sweet & sugary, you'd be in a worse state for bites than me!

Pharmacist can give anti-histamines and stuff like that, but I don't think they can give antibiotics. They might tell you if you need something like that looking at by a doc, though.

I have taken an anti-histamine so we'll see.
I'll keep slathering on the germolene too. I *think* the red area around it has possibly stopped spreading out now, or at least not so quickly, so it will hopefully start contracting soonish.
We can keep the high-strength booze and bonesaw in the cupboard for now.

Thankfully, it's definitely not ticks- my feet were only on the ground when i set off and got back 1.5hr later.
Reckon it was probably a horsefly/cleg. Manky bastards that they are. I wasn't even sweaty, but was huffing my way up a hill when i felt the sting on my arm.

I had a maybe insect bite a few weeks ago. I think I even commented on it on here. Was a kind of circle rash so was concerned about Lyme's but it did fade. Anthisan is the way to go though, Germolene didn't really touch it.
I currently have a bit of a headache and migraine. It feels like a hangover basically, only I've not been drinking. So it does make me question not drinking if I still occasionally feel shit.

On this note, antihitamines (a couple of 24hr ones) coupled with germolene, put a slight dent into the swelling and redness over two days, but I put some magnesium sulphate on the fucker last night and it really pulled out a lot of the nastiness. It's so much better already after one overnight application.
Recomeded.

So I went to the hospital earlier for my urology appointment. I had to not piss this morning so I could make sure I pissed there and they could do a flow test. I was absolutely bursting, but also a bit nervous (as I always am in hospitals) and tend to speak at the wrong times, or speak too much. A kindly nurse lady guided me to their toilets and asked if I piss in the funnel thing and into the bucket so they could monitor how much etc.
As I had finished, I took a look in the bucket and for some random reason decided to very loudly announce to myself "Bloody hell, that's foamy".
Of course, the door was ajar and kindly nurse lady was right outside. There was no way in hell she didn't hear.
What made it worse was she then said "Gosh, you had quite a bit to come out there didn't you?". I of course laughed and said "yeah, I thought it wouldn't stop."
In hindsight, I'm not sure I've had a more embarrassing exchange with a complete stranger.
Later on, the specialist informed me that I had a huge bladder, and I need to piss more regularly so it contracts back into shape quicker after I piss. She then warned that I may get a "big floppy bladder" when I'm 80.
So. This has been an interesting day then.

If it helps the nurse probably thought nothing of it and has similar exchanges multiple times a day. They’re used to it.

Just asking, as start of august I had a dull ache in my left testicle and a constant need to have a wee and pressure in my bladder. Most of it cleared after a couple of weeks but still have the odd day where I suddenly need to piss more often or a presence/ache in the bladder/lower abdomen. Been fine for a few days but today it’s there. Done a piss test but came back negative for a uti. Doctors have put me on antibiotics for two weeks in case it’s an inflamed prostate and have to go to the sexual health clinic for a check up to see if it’s sti related (pretty confident it isn’t that). May have to have a ultrasound of the testies too.

I had need to go to an STI clinic about a decade ago, fuck me that was a grim/depressing place, it was a city centre one and was packed with cubicles with students and al-sorts getting their bits checked out, then sent away with a brown paper bag of goodies under your arm. After some heavy duty invasive interrogating they put it down to me having used shower gel on the old chap instead of just water, what with me being the faithful chap I am. I still don't think they believed me.
