Well done & good luck in Castle Sol. We’ll have the wahmbulance on standby for when you get shafted… I agree about Mountain top - I tend to search where the worthwhile items are, like ancient smithing stones, and just get them Fucking ballista just knocked me off a wall

Just been mopping up some dungeons & catacombs. Riding the chariot in Gelmir hero’s grave was really cool. I’ve stopped just short of the final bosses ready for the dlc. Haligtree wasn’t as bad as I remembered, but mountain top was worse. Still pissed off at the cheating frost dragon up there. Proper nails

I don't think I've ever fought that. Just legged (hoofed) it past. Probably a bit of dragon fatigue after the lake, Caelid, Ranni's house, the one by the caravan in Altus and whoever else I'm forgetting.

If we’re talking annoying dragons, I’ll take a normal one that flits about a wide open area over a magma wyrm that boxes you into a tiny area and stomps you flat. Though to be fair that was mainly an early game lack of Vigor issue, I’d probably destroy them in a few hits if I met them again now.

I wish you could fight the chariots. Normally spend most of the levels trying to sprint past them into an alcove. Then there’s normally a way to cause them to crash or shoot a bomb down. I think the Gelmir one is unique that you can jump onto it and ride it over lava, but unless I’m missing something, you can’t harm it at all.

The camera was the 2nd boss in that fight!

I don't even mind the frost dragon that much, because it's a "normal" (i.e. non-lightning) dragon in a thankfully wide flat open space. What I hate most are the lightning dragons, possibly the worst fights in the entire game for me with that utter camera nightmare. Extra points if it's in an awkward crammed space like that one early on in Farum Azula. Fuck that.

Became the Lord of Frenzied Flame yesterday, that achievement was still missing. My original plan for the playthrough was to be evil and kill everyone to get their stuff early, but couldn't bring myself to it. I am a benevolent lord of chaos

My Dex/Arcane character, Hoof Hearted has completed her journey for now. I’m leaving the last 2/3 bosses in case there’s any unique content when the dlc lands
I’m thinking of starting a new character, mage & int based She shall be Queen LaQueefah and she will pee-pew from a distance, is the plan. Knowing me, she’ll probably end up with 35 strength and a magic claymore, but I’ll see.

The lure of the big bonk is always strong. I can honestly say I've never really felt it, give me my slashy slash fast stuff (Dark Moon Greatsword aside) and pew pews any day I probably should try it at some point, just to see

I mean, technically I have, it's just magical (If I was going to go unga bunga strength I'd probably use Giant-Crusher at this point tbh... Might as well go all the way)

Whenever I tried a great/colossal weapon I found, it almost immediately went into the chest. Too slow! I ended up playing through with the Bloodhound Fang to see if it's as good as everyone says (and if I can warm up to big weapons). It's indeed very good and I wouldn't say I didn't have fun, but still I'm kinda glad I'm done and won't have to use greatweapons again.

But it hampers my mobility! Also, the faster the weapon, the more openings you get. And bleed/status effects etc.
Also turns out big weapons aren't ideal for light load builds, who would have thought.

Defeated The Regal Ancestor boss last night and forgotten how beautiful and atmospheric the whole encounter is. Music is stunning. I think it’s probably my favourite boss in the game, appreciate that it has a recognisable move-set, feels like old souls in that you wait and exploit its openings, it’s less frantic then many of the newer designed bosses.

Back playing this again, ahead of the DLC in a couple of months. Other than a very annoying moment of taking a long time to clear out guards with one of those carriages and it randomly disappearing (I think one of the giants must have destroyed it, but didn't see it happening), I've been having a great time with it. Not hugely far into it, just wandering around Limgrave hoping to get a weapon to replace my starting club. Thinking I want something strength-based, but also want to do a lot more magic than I did first time around.
Performance question. Does ray tracing, even on a 4090, cause performance issues? I've not measured it, but definitely getting noticeable frame drops, particularly around forest areas. Tried it on max initially and dropped it to medium, but still having the drops. I see some comments of others saying they have 4090 and it is flawless with maximum RT, but don't know if they are just talking nonsense.

It was still there when I started fighting the giants. Halfway through fighting them I noticed it had vanished. I think one of their attacks must just have clipped it, but don't know if they can timeout or if they disappear when they reach a certain point on the map (it was a little bit after the bridge and on the road that leads to the Gatefront). Cool video though. Definitely sounds like the Kaiden Rider's object damage has a typo for that attack.

Maybe a bit like the mountain giant where you can’t see shit due to the camera so it’s a bit luck based if you guessed when to roll. Super huge bosses look cool but are rarely the most fun to fight. What was that boss near the end of blood bourne? The great one or something? Feel out of the moon or something. Looked so amazing but fighting it was annoying. Pretty easy but annoying as you couldn’t see shit when attacking it. Or vicar Amelia with all the hair, looks cool but doesn’t make a good boss.
