I need a slap. I absolutely don't need a new tablet. I have a surface Pro 7 that does everything I need. However it's just a little too big for the daily browsing on a sofa situations or sitting on the desk next to main pc to take handwritten notes (yes I'm one of those people). I keep telling myself that I don't need a new smaller tablet. I have a hybrid laptop that does it all. Why must I constantly crave shiny?! Why must apple and Microsoft make me choose! Why?! Ha, I'm in the same boat. I will at least first have a look at one in a store before buying it ( on the spot).

I don't like reading on the phone, I like reading on the mini. The difference in screen size is substantial. Also, the mini is small enough to carry around for me, while a bigger tablet ain't.

Looking forward to the next event to see what the next M1 chip can do.
I love my M1 13" MacBook Pro but its main use is for video editing on the go but I need something more powerful for home use really. My 2017 iMac can't cut it anymore. I think I'd be looking at a new Mac Mini and a LG 4K Ultra Fine display.
I'm not bothered about any kind of new iPhone as my 11 Pro Max is just fine.

I hope they revive the sub-1kg, ultra-portable 12" MacBook. The old one was slow, but not anymore with an M1 (M2?).

I'm due an upgrade laptop wise. Been holding out for the next version so I hopefully won't have to deal with the touchbar, and be rid of the dongle hell.
Since the pandemic hit I've been working from home and I'm thinking that a larger screen would be nice. I might go for the 16" model this time.

I keep touching (I know) it by accident without realising and firing off all manners random things. Since I got a couple of usb-c pendrives I don’t dongle that much. Having charging ports in both sides is surprisingly handy, however.

Why don't any of the Macbooks have touchscreens and why doesn't the ipad pro M1 come with MacOS?!

Because this way they can sell a tablet and laptop to some people. Pretty sure they’ll merge at some point but not for a while.

Yeah in my case they've failed to sell me a laptop and I'll most likely get an ipad mini instead -£500 for apple

Had to leave Volume on it as they’ve done away with the dedicated buttons and I’m still accidentally muting the fucking machine in calls 10 months in. Shitty idea shittily implemented. And the keyboard is also shit. Nice screen tho’.

Oh, I actually like the keyboard. I left the F keys on by default, maybe I’ll try with the volume/brightness, those might be less destructive.

My muscle memory absolutely hates the new Safari.

I got that with FF a few days ago. They moved the reload button from the bottom to the top. Not a bad change, but very disruptive.

My muscle memory absolutely hates the new Safari. You can swipe across the tab bar to switch tabs, or to open a new one if you're at the last one. Also you can pull down to refresh. But yeah, muscle memory is a bitch.

Oh yeah, the changes are great. I’m just struggling to use any of it because of the old habits.

Ooh, and the combo boxes are completely redesigned. About time, the barrel selection was getting mighty long in the tooth.

Also, with the bottom bar expanded (full address bar plus buttons below visible), swipe up starting from the address bar to enter the tab overview.

iTunes is now borked after the latest version on Windows (12.12.0.6). Unless you are running your OS with US English any other language gives the error: 'iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes'. Anyone else having this issue? It seems pretty widespread.

Not sure I like the address bar at the bottom, it may well make one handed access easier but most websites have their internal links at the top of the page so now they’re all further away

100% don't need this but sat next to a guy on a plane the other day and was very envious of him watching films whilst I sat there like a barbarian with my audio books.
Has anyone used this for work? I'm thinking about meeting notes and that sort of thing. Looks like a better option than scribbling into a notebook.

Really don’t like a lot of the new iPhone safari, there was nothing wrong with the tab screen before, I don’t like this stupid new tile display. Swiping through tabs is stupid when you’ve got 10 or more open, it now a chore swiping tabs closed, not one thing is any better than it was before

The thin bar at the very bottom of your screen. Alternatively you can change it in settings (aa in address bar) so the car is at the top of the screen.

You can go into settings and set the tabs back to how they were

They let you change it to suit you better? How very un-Apple, cheers will look now

Ahhhh that’s the stuff. Stuck with the shitty tile view on tabs though, for us weirdos who always have more than a dozen open it’s a pain. When you close one and they all swap positions so you lose the mental map of where the tabs are, the in line view was much better

I actually do use both for work so yeah. I’m getting the new Mini pretty much just because it can use the pen and it would be better for OneNote scribbling in meetings. The Pro is good for a general workhorse, at least for what I do.
