My step-mum does, purely so she can jack the text right up and look at it without her readers on.

If the fuckers finally give the iphone a USB C I may consider upgrading my 12 but apart from that all mainly be interested in the new apple watch.

Yeah, I've stuck with my XS until now and it's only really battery life that's letting it down. I had a 13 Pro through a job that I recently left (fuckers took it back ) and it was an incredible step up in speed, responsiveness, and especially on the camera. I'm keen to see what the 14 brings to the party.

I use the Pro Max, and have done for the last 3 phones. The larger sixe is great for actually using the thing but it's a pita for holding/carrying. I'm currently thinking I'll be going back to the pro size next time.

I am considering getting a new MacBook, in part as I am concerned prices might rocket next year and also I have that sort of 'itchy feet' thing going on. I have had a 15" MacBook Pro (mid-2014) so my initial thought would be the vanilla 14" MacBook Pro, but I really love the look of the 512GB MacBook Air in that midnight colour.
I am unsure if I would find the drop in screen real estate to be too big a hurdle and I wonder about the power of the Air. I create short videos for work (nothing fancy and really only up to Full HD at the moment, I don't have enough clips to use for anything higher). I am sure the Air would handle that comfortably, probably fly through it compared to what I am using.
Any thoughts?!

Either is going to be a stratospheric upgrade compared to where you’re coming from. Just watch out for I/O speed on the Air as I have a recollection that it used substantially slower NVMe. I recently upgraded a 2014 vintage 15” MBP to a 2021 14” MBP and it’s night and day. As you’d imagine for seven years difference.

It will be absolutely sufficient, and you save quite a bit of money. Just get one with at least 512GB, as that has a much faster SSD. Also be aware that the Midnight colour might chip of a little bit, especially around the ports. If that bothers you, get Silver or Starlight. One editor of MacRumors made a video after 1 month of use and he says, IIRC, he'd rather use the Air instead of the Mac Studio for his 4K video work:

Just watch out for I/O speed on the Air as I have a recollection that it used substantially slower NVMe. That's only for the 256GB Air. That one uses 1 SSD chip, whereas all other Air models (MBPs as well) use 2 in parallel. Hence halved SSD speeds on the 256GB models.

My first generation iPad Pro's battery is knackered. Does from 100% to asking for power to be plugged in an instant. Managed to back everything up and erase everything. Taking it in to get a £99 replacement battery on Saturday. Much better than forking out for a new one. I was looking at the 12.9 M1 version but it looks as there are loads of limitations put on there by Apple in terms of what it can do. Looks stupidly overpowered as well. Plus the £1.6K approx price for the one I'm after.
Hopefully they'll get it sorted out and then I'll be able to get a Studio in a few months time.

I’m gonna get it for when I remember to do a 15 minute walk on the Peloton. That’s clearly what it’s designed for.

I do have some rather deep baths so I could find it useful.... Throw in a shitty ass detection and then it would be an indispensable device..

It's very.... apple, throw in loads of features that most people don't need but they will pay it anyway so they don't feel they have the basic model.

But it’s fucking massive, so I don’t feel that loss. Looks great for what it is, but it would look ridiculous worn under normal circumstances.

I can see why they’re charging that much for that watch, I will never pay it though. The normal watch is a big enough waste of money when I definitely don’t need it.
I’m looking forward to them announcing something that can make use of their lossless audio on Apple Music. One day it’ll happen.

Is this the first time there’s been an OLED display on the base model? That’s a nice bonus. I don’t really need the good one, but I’ve always got it because the display on the non-Pro has always looked like arse in comparison.

The island thing is going to look a bit shit if a screen protector needs a cutout around the sensor

The watch suffers for those kind of expeditions due to the rubbish battery life. Suunto and Garmin might not be as flashy but they either will allow you to use GPS for a week, or can recharge via solar-power.

Totally the opposite for me. The camera waffle droned on for so long I nearly fell asleep. I know they're great for photos, but I wasn't able to focus at all on it

I always forget the phones have colour schemes. They’re always in a silicon case for me.
Trying to justify the upgrade from the iPhone X to 14 Pro Max. It’s going to sit on my home office desk for 5 days every week.

Slightly odd that the ovulation detection is retrospective. Like it almost sounds like a last minute alteration by the legal team. Although there's probably already a bunch of disclaimers for all the medical stuff.

UK pricing is eye watering. Meanwhile the 13-pro has vanished from the store, as it would be a similar price to the standard 14, and better. Also, the 12 and 13 are the same price for some reason.

Just going to wait for Max Tech summary to event or even for the reviews when it comes out. I do need a new iPhone. Still no USB-C. I do want to film in ProRes but will be a case of using AirDrop to get the files over.
