I was actually pretty gutted when they announced the death of the ipod. I had a 5th gen ipod sat in a drawer for like ten years that had battery swell. Cracked the screen and burst the case. Kept meaning to rebuy one but between them becoming EOL and dankpods their prices have gone crazy.

My 80gb classic has been sat in the car armrest for the last 6 years, I think it’s still going strong. Wonder what it’s worth

My work MBP 15" from 2015 has a swollen battery that's bowed the case. Noticed it the other week. As we've been sat at home for 2 years it's pretty much just been constantly plugged in which has clearly done it no favours whatsoever.

I would look at that as it can crack the logic board and/or pop the trackpad out.

Haven't all Macs had the option for a while now to cap charging to 60-80% with the explicit aim of prolonging the battery? Yes, you can activate something like "optimized charging" which only charges the battery to 80%.

The Lightning port is proprietary, not USB-C… I assume you want the more universally usable, standard port, which would be USB-C. In that case, get an iPad Air, which was recently updated.

Just ipads
Looking for the oldest (or cheapest) one which has native usb-c
Would that be the ipad air or was there any older generations which had native usb-c?

Boo! My iPhone is broken. I thought it was the port because it wouldnt take any cables but the guy in the local repair shop swapped the port and it still doesnt work, so the problem is likely to be on the board.
It still charges wirelessly but... bleh.
Still, this is the first iphone ive had where something has gone wrong so not a bad strike rate.

I'm fairly certain you can use USB-C on older iPads. It's just a Lightning cable. So unsure as to why you require USB-C? As it doesn't matter.

USB-C is only useful if you need to transfer large files.

Or charge a variety of different devices using the same cable.

It’s useful if you want one charger that can do it all with pass through charging etc too though.

I don't want to be messing around with other cable formats
So I just need to Know the oldest ipad that has a USB-c charging port

Went hands-on with the new Air yesterday. Very thin and light, and while it might look chunkier than the old Air, it definitely feels noticeably lighter and thinner. The Midnight color is gorgeous, although I would worry scratching the palm rest with my watch's bracelet. Screen, keyboard and build quality are top-notch (LOL).

I have a Rose Gold M1 Air but other half uses it most of the time, we don't need a 2nd laptop as I have a Mac mini but I constantly lust after the Midnight M2 Air...

The cameras on my iphone se are completely obscured by fluff or dust or something on the inside of the case.
How much of a job would it be for me to clean it up myself or are they too closed off and I’ll just have to accept a washed out grey haze across all my photos now?

Luckily, I have the answer for you, young man. Jetwash. Or sulphuric acid. Hang on. Which was it?
