An unintentional scrambling of the name of a creature that suppresses the force in a series of star wars books. Pretty much guarantees it's never taken on any forum and yes, I am a geek. You do have to avoid vonskrs, though.

Wanted a username back in the day that was a readable word and nobody else had used. Scrambled the letters of Nozomi (from Shenmue, and now the name of my cat), and stuck ‘ac’ at the end because I was a teen and it seemed cool.
If I’m playing a game with a female character that gets user-named the c gets dropped and she becomes Zomonia.

If I'm playing a female character, she gets named some variation of Bunk (Bunky, Bunkus etc) after our female cat, Bunk. Who's named after Lt. Moreland in the Wire, who's obviously a bloke.

For the Bethesda RPGs and maybe some others, my first character would be a man called hedben and I'd make the (generally good, moral) choices I'd make if I were in that situation. Then for a second playthrough I'd make a female character called Pandora, and she'd be a heinous immoral evil psycho. There's probably something Freudian to unpack there... (Notable exception: Mass Effect. Femshep good, obviously)

My surname is Doyle. A mate introduced me to someone from Bristol 20+ years ago as 'Doyley' and because this guy kept saying it in his farmers accent as 'Dolly' it became my name with everyone FOREVER.

"Malygos" guy from Warcraft/Hearthstone. Thinking about it, I should probably have picked other name because Blizz is dead and terrible.

I was hooked on the webcomic Megatokyo back in the days when Fred was actually writing / drawing it, rather than 'anything but writing / drawing it' which is what he concentrates on these days. And my favourite character was the Temporary Conscience Authority Agent, Boo, who is a hamster. That Boo was, in turn, modelled on the character from Baldur's Gate, which I have never played. Fortunately, some places still accept three letter usernames - many don't, so elsewhere I go by 'BooTheMightyHamster'. You can meet the MT Boo, here: megatokyo.com/strip/79

In the dim and distant days I was quite politically shouty, often about workspace stuff.
A workmate suggested I was a junior teamster (in the political / union way, perhaps rather than the slightly mob way). So for years I was teamster_jr, that then because TSR.

I'm of the Swedish persuasion and used to compulsively correct people when they pronounced something wrong. One day I said the word for tortoise wrong (skalpadda instead of sköldpadda) and my girlfriend seized the chance for revenge and mocked me for it for weeks. I adopted it as an IRC nick as a reminder to myself to be less of an annoying dickhead.
Probably should have ditched it long ago as it's gibberish and impossible to pronounce for non-Swedes, but I guess I'm just stuck with it at this point.

Fwiw, my brain autocorrects your name to Lazytits That's fine, they are. Are lazytits like lazy eyes in that you shouldn't stare at them?

Simpsons fanatic from the off (yes most of the last xx years break my heart!) even Tracey Ullman show shorts. I was also very into bodybuilding during the nineties and in a certain light, if you sqiunted and I was wearing a red cap, I could be compared physique wise to the Duffster...honest, now I look like more like the Plow king, well getting there! Oh Yeah!

Mines just a nickname from my school days as my surname is slightly similar. I haven’t been called it since I left school nearly 30 years ago but I’ve always used it as a username.

In school my friend looked like Rodney from only fools and horses, so we called him Rodney.
A group of us got stoned in the woods, and a couple of people came along who we didn’t know that well, and they somehow thought my name was Rodney, and called me Rodney when we met again a few weeks later. This seemed funny at the time and the name kind of stuck for a while. Like a really shit in joke, but I was just taking my first steps onto the internet, around 98 or 99, so I started using it as my pseudonym, and just stuck with it long after the in joke died.
Was on Eurogamer for about 20 years, so it’s a weird connection to my youth.

About my previous name "DrStrangelove": some 11 or 12 years ago, there was some EG article on Wolfenstein or something, and I wanted to make some bad stand-up comedy joke in the comments and registered as "DrStrangelove" for that. The joke was probably lame as fuck. But the name stuck and I started using it in other places too.
But the name was already taken in many online places. On the Bioware forum, I randomly came up with "RobTheRobber". No idea why. But I liked it and started using it as a secondary go-to nickname.

Mine used to be Blobsticks, a name my wife used for those fluffy sticks ladies stuff up their guffin once a month. I shortened it to blobs for the internets sake.. but I thought you lot would appreciate the origin.

Mine's pretty obvious and is from to the Lord of The Rings which is my favourite book.
I loved the films, played Middle Earth Role Playing Game and have played a few Tolkien based computer games in the past starting with the Hobbit on the Spectrum. I met my wife through a shared love of Lord of The Rings.

Mines my gamertag and twitch channel so can't really be arsed being to creative over multiple boards. H alpha stands for Hydrogen Alpha which is the wavelength of light that allows you to see solar flares and prominences on the surface of the sun. Fox because why not.

Because I used to make music that was kind of like techno and I needed a name to upload it to some website.
In my Q2 days my name was usually Confusion (shortened to Conf often), for the Blade rave scene music - but that name was always taken everywhere.
