Don’t actually like mine, it’s dumb, but had it for 25 years across most services now.
Watching a terrible Lethal Weapon dub, on channel 5, on magic mushrooms at college. Close up of Mel Gibson’s face yelling “You flinking mother cruncher” made us laugh for about two hours straight. Had to be there. And had to be high 🙄

I used to spend my time during lectures writing silly stories instead of paying attention. At one point a character made friends with a disembodied head that introduced itself with a series of numbers starting with 1 and ending with 5. The character subsequently gave it the name wuntyphyve. Only my son inherited that profile name at some point through my error, so now I'm wuntyate.

Looking at obscure superheroes and decided on Drax (10 years ago). But Drax was taken so I went through the alphabet changing the first letter and Grax was the best alternative.
Pinkyfloyd kept calling me Graxlar… so I just thought fuck it. I will change it to Graxlar and now I sometimes find myself referring to myself as grax irl…

Used to play quake online and it's just a crap play on words using Quad damage + Godfather. I even edited a Godfather picture to say Quadfather instead.
I feel silly now.

And had to be high 🙄 This reminds me of the time I was hanging out with friends at uni late one night, and we were, let's say, "under the influence", watching Seven. And me and this other guy had one of those incredibly profound life-changing discussions about how Seven was really a horror movie remake of Lethal Weapon, yeah?! Full disclosure: this may have been entirely based on "young white guy, old black guy". Years later I read an entirely serious article about the film that genuinely did compare it to Lethal Weapon, so who knows, maybe we were onto something (or the other film journalist was high). |

larry bong was my dad's nickname from his youth. I appropriated it as an online persona in his honour. Plus it was a username that was unlikely to be already taken by someone else and avoided the need to start inserting punctuation or numbers into my usernames.
Not that interesting a story really but the truth is often quite boring.

I lived in the South Manchester suburb of Old Trafford for many years.
At one point, I created a City of Heroes character called The Trafford Avenger, a vigilante type, it was my first and only MMO.
In game buddies referred to me Trafford.
Voila!

I did have 808 tacked on the end at the old site for ravey davey references since there was another vortex who'd beaten me to it.
Now I've stolen the solo name, since they seem to have disappeared over the years.

Phatt was a monicker picked up from people I used to jam and do music sessions with, based on the intensity of my beats, yo. That's why my XBL handle is Phatt. By the time I came to register here, however, it had taken on a literal meaning as I ballooned in weight. Hence Phattso.
Now I'm neither clinically obese nor particularly good at writing tunes any more, so I should probably retire it to something more beige as I enter the pipe and slippers phase of life. PhietNightIn or something, I dunno.

The full music collective, btw, was Phatt (me with the layered beats), Phinn (a dude whose music was thin - very minimal), and Pucked (a dude who was so off his gourd most of the time we were never sure where the music actually came from). Hard though it might be to believe, Phatt, Phinn, and Phucked didn't get many gigs nor much interest on the A&R scene.
We duly rebranded and reinvented ourselves as The Digital Circle, and were featured in such weighty tomes as "the local paper" and Future Music. The latter gave our ambient concept album a one line review: "moves slower than time in prison."
It was a decade later when we came to the realisation that it wasn't a good review.

Samildanach is a character from David Gemmell's Knights of Dark Renown. Yeah I'm a bit of a DG nut. In hindsight I probably should have gone for one of his characters whose name is not such a mouthful... When I'm tired my brain abbreviates it to Sandwich. Which is a mouthful too in a way. |

I had previously used a far too common handle so decided to choose something 'original'. I remembered enjoying a sci-fi short story collection as a kid, Peter Davison's Book of Alien Monsters, which contained the short story, Vurfing the Gwrx about an alien arcade machine.
I liked arcade stuff (still have some real arcade stuff I need to get rid of as I don't have the time for it any more and possibly first used the nick when I was in that 'scene') so thought it was an interesting choice but not really a name (Gwrx on its own was already taken) so made it into a proper noun while referencing the story (a few people over the years have recognised the reference but not many) thus One_Vurfed_Gwrx. (I mad an EG account without underscores but messed it up and lost access before even using it). Elsewhere I have rearranged it into different variations but had a creepy weird stalker who stole one of them and posted shite everywhere so any variants online are not me

I nicked it from the liner notes from some band but can't remember who. Don't think they were particularly famous.
From what I remember, they thanked a "Pierre Pressure" which was a pseudonym to prevent royalties going to the actual artists record label who performed on the record.

Surname is Rock and since most of the movies I watched when younger always had a Russian henchman (sometimes two if they wanted a separate kicker and puncher) I stuck an "avitch" at the end.
