Had a cat called stoofer, like on Harry Hill’s show, but we’d call him a variety of different names mainly based on his similarity to a sort of South American cartel leader; El Capitan, el mariachi, el stoofer etc. I needed a handle for online stuff that was unlikely to be in high demand and wasn’t just a jumble of letters so this one stuck

It was originally meant to be Load "$" ,8,1 when I first joined EG as a lurker 18 or 19 years ago. I'm a bit fuzzy on why but I either forgot my password or changed it for some reason to Load "$"
EG later advised I couldn't have speech marks in my user name as it messed with the Matrix, so it just became Load $.

It's short for psilocybin. It was created during a short lived mushroom phase.
I'm Psiloc Finch in games where I get to use a surname. The Finch comes from an old band I liked that happened to do a (weird) song about psilocybin, and also Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird.
