Morning Ratfans
So FR6 seems to be getting a lot of positivity, it would seem it is the natural successor to 3, which is most people's fav (mine is still prob FCP or maybe 3) anyway just thought we could have a thread for anyone wishing to co-op the campaign once it releases next month. I will be there day 1 I think.
I hope we are not "tethered" anymore and I hope the guest gets progression this time, I can't seem to find concrete answers to those qustions though. The free missions based around Rambo, Stranger Things and Machete look fun. Far Cry needs to up its game on that front the dlc (paid for) in 5 was mostly awful.
Lastly I did search to make sure there is no FR6 thread and from what I believe we have a working search now, so all should be good.

Not wanting to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that co-op is still tethered.

They will sell you an dlc to increase tether distance, or better even still Far Cry 6 gold edition with 25 percent bigger tether.

As long as it has a map so covered in collectables you can't actually see it and I can completely ignore the main quest until the map is clear I'll be happy. Not being sarcastic btw, that's just how I roll.

Been playing a bit of 5 and even started a new run of 4 earlier in anticipation (first time on 1x, completed upon release on 360) defo looking forward to playing 6.
I have 72'000 xbox points to put towards the purchase, will buy Gold edition, should end up costing me about £30.
Lovely.

Maybe when people get tired of the formula, Ubisoft can just say "fuck it" and make a sequel to 2. FC3 has had enough sequels.  |

I'm not sure people will get tired of the formula to be honest. I think FC5 was the best selling of the series, I thought it was ok but not great. FC6 does have a lot of good buzz surrounding it though and maybe the true sequel to FC3.
As for FC2, absolutely it was a great game, not without its own frustrations but certainly more "pure"

Fingers crossed it's changed, fairly sure I read somewhere it hasn't though.

Far Cry 6 download is the same price as the disc version on Shopto. Xbox though.

I quite liked FC4 and 5, so have just pre-ordered on PS4 - will anyone else be playing on that? I suspect co-op won't go between PS4 and PS5.

Primal is the underrated one.

I reckon this will be a good Farcry. |

I did they same 👍 so clicked the FC6 quest card first and then bought it, 6000 points added to account directly.

Yeah that 6k rewards thing is an instant £5 off... although I figure it's more of a fiver refund.
I've got 43k in points at the moment, don't know whether to use them for FC6 or to wait for it to hit a sale. Kinda told myself wouldn't buy any more games at full price but Gamepass means I basically never actually buy any Xbox games so may still treat myself.
Last far cry I played was FC4.

5 was fun, the DLC was abysmal though. Just really really bad. It's physically painful to me just how bad the DLC was for that game. Which is probably why I never played New Dawn, which is a shame because it looked like the DLC we should have had.

Agreed on the FC5 dlc rob, the second one which had a sci-fi setting was plain painful. I had to force myself to play it just because I'd spent money on it, pretty stupid really. I did like the Vietnam setting from the first FC5 dlc though and reckon that could make a decent Far Cry all on its own if they made one specifically in that time period. They could take inspiration from movies like Platoon, Apocalypse Now, Rambo, The Deer Hunter and Full Metal Jacket, which all had elements of psychological weirdness that would fit the Far Cry mould. |
