Started to progress a bit more in this and I absolutely love this game so far now.
It was a bit jarring coming from a completion of 5 the week before but now my eyes have adjusted it's such a good looking game. The lighting, weather, foliage, all brilliant. Found a treasure hunt in a cave system and that was unlike anything I've seen in Far Cry.
There seems to be loads more to do and collect too and I am enjoying the zany sort of tone. It really feels like if Just Cause was made with actual technical flair and better gameplay.
Have discovered a shortcut to collecting civilian vehicles by scanning them with the phone so note that if you haven't figured it out.
Had my first cockfight, which was hilarious.

Yea I'm enjoying it for the same reasons. I find myself avoiding transport most of the time as I like to see the emergent stuff kicking off around me. The treasure hunting is fun as you said. I'm also surprised it runs as well as does (2070 super @ 4k 50-60fps). Think I will take my time with this one much like the others.

I'm enjoying myself with this, and I agree with several of Gremmi's points: - that initial rifle with armour piercing ammo and a decent sight is making combat incredibly easy. It's basically a series of headshots - I miss the radio towers and base capture. There are several enemy bases that I've cleared out but I can't capture them.. - Bugs - when within a home base (third person view, no weapon) my avatar jerkily moves about when she should be standing still. It's not controller drift as when I'm out on the map there is no issue - I also miss the skills for dropping down on soldiers from a rooftop for a stealth machete kill, or grabbing them from below

Anyone done any co-op yet? Not yet, had a few people trying to join my game (via the in-game coop option) but as I have been playing the story I have opted not to allow them to join. I probably will do at some point however.

Apparently you can still do takedowns from the air, works from parachute and wingsuit as well. From buildings you have to drop rather than jump.
That's according to a thread I read about it, not first hand experience.

Anyone had any luck with the wingsuit? It seems to just plummet like a stone, I was traversing half the map with it in 5.
I've also found out that the controls for it are set the wrong (non-inverted) way by default but even after changing them it's still non-inverted.
Can seriously only cover maybe less than 200m with it.
On topic you can do an aerial takedown from a ledge, I did one from a shipping container last night. Whether I dropped or jumped I can't remember.
I think the takedown stuff seems to be unlocked from the start this time, I've already seen chain and throwing knife takedowns and haven't put any resources into upgrading it.
I had a go at soloing the first Black Market op yesterday. Was very enjoyable but very difficult, obviously is designed for co-op. Ended up losing and then it crashed by getting stuck in a loading screen

I put the effort into doing the stealth base capture yesterday.
I haven't found the wingsuit to be very engaging either - the inverted controls didn't help.
I'd be keen to try the co-op sometime this week if anyone fancies it. I'm playing on PS4 - not sure if co-op would work between PS5 and PS4...

Now I've got into it a bit more, Far Cry 6 is a bit better than I first thought. It's not bad. Still prefer 4 though, and removing skill trees was a mistake.

The inversion thing is infuriating.
You can invert y axis for normal FPS and 3rd person perspective, but you can only do it for plane, helicopter and wingsuit by manually reprogramming the controls individually. Selecting the invert axis option does nothing to these situations.
Considering the origin of people inverting the Y axis stems from transferring across for joysticks and flight sticks in flight simulators to other game types, it makes it the stupidest game design decision I've seen in a long while

Armed with a sniper rifle and managed do get a double headshot with one bullet a couple of times. Extremely satisfying. I've also got a decent rifle, automatic pistol and when I fancy it, I go all Rambo with an explosive crossbow.
Definitely my GOTY but that's also kind of by default as I've not played anything this year apart from this. Well, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla but that was released last year.

I can't find options to invert wingsuit anywhere on Xbox.
Got the firework gun tonight, that's fun.

Fuck me. Defend Philly's Truck. What a shit show of a mission. Died at least twenty times. Zero cover and being attacked by wave after wave of jeeps that tear me to shreds. If I can hold off dying for long enough they just destroy the truck and it's mission over anyway. Have no decent weapons to use against the trucks. Fuck this. Anyone else done this mission?!

If you're able to restart it, I bought a rocket launcher just before that mission and it saved me. You get infinite ammo for whatever weapon you use and so that made it far more enjoyable.

There is no shame in dropping the skill, I did and completed right away. You can then ramp difficulty back up should you wish. Just did a plane mission, which thankfully was not too bad. I hate any flying mission in games, especially in FC, as the fov is always shite. If you are xbox, invite me and we can do, although one of us will probably just be the driver ?

Did it. Purchased the fireworks weapon from Juan. Ridiculously the bit where I kept dying was probably only 20% of the way through the total truck journey. Stupid difficulty spike pissed me off...no in game hint to go equipped with a launcher. I'd say it's virtually impossible without one. Onwards and upwards.

I had a similar problem, well still do during the final main mission of FC3 remastered, another survive/% damage mission. You need to actually play in a high skill level due to a bug making "easy" the hardest setting, however I could not best it on any skill level despite beating it years earlier on the 360. I'm still pissed off by it.

Anyone completed yet ? I have just started the missions for the Heroes I think around 50% complete. The map is only about 50% "de-fogged" though. I am enjoying but not enough that I simply need to play, in fairness no game has that effect on my lately, even things I think am really excited to play. I hate driving, flying in FC games, the POV is always shite. I can just about live with the helicopters, but surely we should have multiple options for camera by now. It also has the worst auto-drive of any Ubi game, terrible. Trying to decide if I prefer it to 5 ? that said I think I had more fun with 4 at this point. I liked the skill trees and Towers for example

Credits rolling and thoroughly enjoyed. A lot better than 5/ND, although I did enjoy both of those. Probably a very high 8/10 for me.

I've finished the story and got about 80% of the trophies. Done all the collectables. I tried the Spec Ops mission in the dinosaur park and managed it without too much issue. Now trying for the other three trophies there - find the secret stash of money, rescue 30 dudes, don't let the bomb temp get above 50%.
The poison soldiers trophy felt like a bit of a slog. What I ended up doing was setting up a rifle with semi-decent zoom and poison bullets. Air drop in to an uncaptured checkpoint, sneak up and shoot all the soldiers with poison, and hide. They start to fight each other, but I think most of them die of the poison rather than the shots from each other so it took ages to trigger the trophy.

Does anyone listen to Colin Moriaty? He’s currently playing this and rates it extremely highly. I trust his judgement.
If goes into a Xmas sale, I’m defo getting it.

I binned it off recently. It does nothing better than previous games, and does a lot of things worse.
The graphics outside of the environment are pretty ropey as well.
