Going to try Guacamelee after done with Dig. Another one I never played but hopefully top quality ? It was one of my favorite metroidvanias. Not so hot about the sequel, but it was still fun enough. |

I love both of them. Definitely my favorite “Metroidvania” not called Metroid or Castlevania.

The whole Catholic nightmare of it all is such a cool look and the level detail puts it above all the other 2D Soulslikes for me.
Plus it was just really fun it play.

I haven't played the first one, but this looks as though it has the potential to be a solid step up; indeed, if it wasn't due out the day before AC6, I'd be tempted to give it a shot.

I think folk want another PoP in the vein of Sands of Time, but stuff that. We’ve had 4 of them and a remake is ‘still’ in the works. This is way more interesting, personally.

Prince of Persia looks like it might be decent Not exactly digging the new look or the annoying rap music (hopefully that's a placeholder just for the trailer), but it does look interesting. I wonder if it's a metroidvania or a linear action-platformer. |

I was thinking about grabbing the Wonderboy collection but the digital version has less games than the LRG physical. What is the point of that? The physical tat is for collector weirdos, what does additional game content add to that version?
Won't buy on principle now. So there
Picked up Bloodstained instead and looks like they've added a decent amount to it since I last played. Additional player characters, boss rush, classic mode (whatever that is). I don't remember the first boss dropping a shard before either. Shame you can't select hard difficulty from the start
I was looking at Afterimage too but I'm thinking it's probably not great

In case you didn't know, you can play as Bloodless if you enter the name BLOODLESS for a new game. I didn't know that for a long time.

It's the Lady Bathory style boss, the woman bathing in blood with the red umbrella
edit: not that I'd recommend playing as any of the bonus characters until you really want something different. Miriam is clearly what the game's designed around.

Did you say you've finished Bloodstained dozens of times? How long does a playthrough take you?
The only games I think I've played into double digits are A Link to the Past, Mario World, Mega Man X, Doom and Quake. Probably Sonic 2

It's been a while, but I think some 8-10 hours on hard with 100% completion and some limited farming. Total playtime according to Steam is 500 hours.

I'm going to try and stay away from whips this playthrough and switch up my weapons a bit. It actually looks a lot nicer than I remembered- I've been unkind to it. Great music as well

That Prince of Persia game will apparently be running at 60fps and full resolution on Switch. Would explain the more simplistic art style, but colour me happy. If the controls are anywhere near as fluid as Metroid Dread, it should be good.
