Most recruitment agencies are scum, especially the ones that deal with graphic design. Usually you get some clueless bellend, who has no idea what they are talking about (best one I had was saying this company needed someone with "abobe premier" to design flyers, brochures and when I said its actually indesign that is used for flyers, brochures etc, she snapped at me and said "we need someone with actual knowledge of abobe products, GOODBYE"
Also they never get back to you and if you chase them, they avoid you but 6 months later they will email you asking if you are looking for work and probably don't remember you. Had one recruiter in March/April very persist about this role despite saying I had permanent job (turns out it was only 12 month contract) Thankfully I have a good non design job I mostly 90% enjoy and it has great company benefits after going through hell in 2019 after getting axed from my design job
The only decent agencies in my experience have been Reed (for temp office work but when they had design roles back then the staff were decent)

Agencies in my field are generally alright, it's quite a niche field and plenty of competition amongst them, so they don't have any room to mess people about or risk getting a bad reputation

My visa card has stopped working and I've never been able to log into their online banking to check what's up. Hoping we can sort it via email. Still a pain as PS+ has expired.
And there are bills and more important stuff I guess as well.
This also ruins my plans of having a nap.

I received an email at 8 am(which incidentally ruined my plans to grab another hours sleep) that was basically a forwarded message from a pissy guy informing me that the problem is Playstation do not meet the acceptable requirements for an anti fraud payment system and therefor, in caps lock, IT IS NOT OUR FAULT OR PROBLEM IT IS A POS ISSUE. I mean what the fuck is that implying, nobody with a bank account in Spain or at least maybe just my bank can have an PS+ account? Not acceptable. But nothing ever is here. That in no way whatsoever is a suitable explanation for why PS+ doesn't work but goes nowhere into explaining why my card does not work anywhere at all. Which, to be fair, was my actual fucking question. So out of curiosity I tried an amazon order this morning which seemingly processed normally, although I know they can be slow on taking payment until shipped but it wouldn't process my orders before so it's a step up. Then thought to try the local supermarket delivery, which hasn't accepted my card for a couple of months and today was no exception, still not working and no real answers. Tried PS+ again, nup. Tried to order some tomahawk steaks, merely to see if card is working and nothing. The support lady, who is nice said they'll look into it and if they can't find the issue I'll be sent another card. So basically I think I'll be getting a new card because rather than admit they made an error or their whole system is fucked completely in the first place they would prefer to try again and hope for the best. Just how a bank, of all places cannot or will not pin point a reason one of their clients cards does not work is astonishing. It all stinks of horseshit and their web of lies to avoid responsibility. |

This morning the bank doubling down on the playsation FUD. They seem to be clutching on to that as a known example of why my card does not work elsewhere.
So the claim goes, 'no problem with your card it is all the sellers who have not got their 2 factor security in place'.
Demonstrable bull shit though considering my wife's card from the same account works.
They want me to try again to see if it is magically fixed. Odd though that the amazon payment did go through.

It was working fine until the weekend. It's odd, nothing worked at all on Monday. Even amazon was rejecting my orders.
My card hasn't been able to order from the supermarket for months but everything else has been fine. Since contacting the bank they say nothing is wrong at it should work.
So I did a test order yesterday via amazon and that worked, just did another order and that worked but it still won't work on the supermarkets page or a online butchers.
My theory is they are trying to fix it without ever having to admit they made an error.
It definitely will not work on PS+ and they have made it very clear that it's not their problem to fix it. Going to see if I can pay that via paypal I guess.
Basically they say to try and order things and see if they work, if not on Monday they'll send a new card. So I don't know, maybe I'll get to buy some stuff at the very least.
edit: Just tried to get PS+ on my UK PS account using a UK street address and it worked, lol
