Yup. Only been stung by that once - fucking chancel liabilities insurance. Was only £25 iirc so easier and cheaper to pay it than argue the toss.

Some cunt has my card details. Thankfully it was only a virtual revolut card which I use for Google pay and random bits for this exact reason, but it's still bloody frustrating knowing that some skeezebag got the details somehow.
Bizarrely they verified the details at 5am but then didn't bother doing anything else with it. I thought these guys moved quickly? Cancelled and new one issued in the space of a minute.

Is that your cover story for when the nazi memorabilia is delivered and the other half accidentally opens it?

Why does Spotify notify me about gigs I might be interested in just before the gig, when it's waaay to late to get tickets?
It'd be a really useful service if it notified me back when the gig is announced or the tickets become available.

Due to the poor planning of this utterly incompetent bus company, the latest timetable revision has resulted in a service that now has the driver stopping for a good few minutes every four or five stops so that they don't turn up early to the next one.

1. I've bought a few items of clothing from US manufacturers recently – nowt fancy. But despite following the washing instructions (30C, machine wash), they've shrunk and lost some colour.
2. I note HMRC doesn't think I made enough National Insurance contributions while I was a full-time student. Not sure how I correct that, now that they shut their phone lines down.

For the love of god. If you call me for technical support, can you pretty please be near the equipment you're calling about?
Three times today. And they're always taken aback. The worst is when they're somehow annoyed at me that they're on the wrong phone.

Entirely unaware, not been a student for 25 years. And can only rectify the last 6 years.

I've also got the same issue. "Missed payments" as a student, somehow, but even though I was a student and not working I can't amend those details because of the 6 year rule.
Concerned it might fuck the already meagre state pension but figure I'll be dead by then anyway.

3 of the 4 years I was at uni say "year is not full" for me - then another in 02/03 despite being in full time employment, with the same employer from 01 to 04, and the years either side being fine.
According to my State Pension summary, I only need to work 2 more years to qualify for the full amount and as it will probably be nearly 20 years before I can claim it, hopefully that isn't an issue but it's still a concern with seemingly no way to remedy.
I really don't think I still have payslips from over 20 years ago, but I do have a folder of "to shred" in the cupboard I seem to have carried with me over several house moves without doing anything, so you never know.

If you have your required amount of full years (30 or 35 or whatever it is for your circumstances) then the years that are not full will not matter at all.

Is there any kind of bonus for paying more than the full years?
I had the option to pay a few missed years a while ago, but I worked out that I'd almost certainly hit the full years without doing so, so I didn't bother. Which I expect to find was a mistake on my part.

Full years is 35 isn't it? Already close to 28 on the clock since graduating, so 7 to go. IF they have me deets correct, I haven't checked.

Anyone can pay the last 6 or 7 missed years - but aren't you in Japan and so not paying into the UK tax currently?

Just checked, and I see...
"£230.31 is the most you can get You cannot improve your forecast any more.
If you’re working you may still need to pay National Insurance contributions until XXXXXXXXX as they fund other state benefits and the NHS."
I have less than 35 years full.

I can still pay in, though it's a pain in the ass dealing with the forms etc.., especially since they shut off their phone line and the bot is useless. It's at a reasonable rate as it doesn't include some stuff, but it's also a bit gimped in that it won't rise in line with inflation. Swings and roundabouts.

Shame you can't have it full and a Japanese one as well, both rising with inflation - you would be quids in.

I read in that Martin Lewis forum that if you type ‘Adviser’ into the bot chat a couple of times then you get a real person to help. It worked for me when I needed a reference code to buy another year of NI contributions.

Listening to the hi fi today, thinking FFS why is it so unbalanced. Found that the tweeter on one speaker was not doing anything. Two hours checking connections, checking the connections on the stylus, actually taking apart the speaker, swapping the speakers, reading and watching things that did not help. Realised this brass bridging connector was missing and remembered throwing it away when tidying up today. One bin dip later and it’s instantly solved. I’ll never get those two hours back. Do not throw anything looking like this away! Glad it’s sorted for free but that’s basically my Saturday afternoon fucked.

I spent the afternoon sweating my nuts off trying (and so far failing) to fix a trampoline the dickheads have gradually trashed over the last year or so. A 14 yr old + 10 yr old combined swinging around it beating the shit out of each other like it was an assault course has not been kind to it.

Ordered something nice for my wife as a 10th anniversary gift. Postman tried to deliver it on Thursday but no one home. I selected ‘collect from local Post Office’ and selected the one in the village here, knowing I was working from home today and tomorrow. Went along this morning to be told that the postie had tried redelivering it to the house on Friday but no one was home so it was sent back to the depot.
I explained that I’d selected collect from the branch and could they get it to come here and was told you only get one chance to make a redelivery request.
I showed them the email. They said, yes it does look like the postie got it wrong but once its gone back to the depot I have to drive out there to get it.
My wife has the car as she drives to work.
