You can get your teeth sorted at the same time. Whether they need it or not.

How short did you go Ape?

If you can sort the implantation, then why not?
I would go that route but not financially feasible at the moment.

How short did you go Ape? The lowest setting on the trimmers was 3. I initially did 5mm all over but then went back and did the sides and back with the 3 to make it match better. As a tip I read in GQ went, always go longer first and then shorten, as you can take it away but can't add it back.

He described the process to me...doesn't hurt itself, but you can feel the injections of anaesthetic going into your scalp and he said that was excruciating... Otherwise they picked him up from home and delivered him to the airport, looked after him before and after, few days of rest in a nice suite and then delivered him to the airport and home. I'm very tempted and it is much cheaper than the London Clinics (and this company also do it in the UK too)...but think they can't do as many translations in the UK due to regulations, the balder you are then Turkey is your option due to the amount they can do there. I'm definitely considering it, I know it's a vanity thing but it is getting me down.

You've everything to gain (literally) and nothing to lose

Ach, just shave it off. Put the money towards a family holiday or something.
I've only had a buzz cut once, did it as a dare/bet. Didn't suit me at all I don't think, but it was very noticeable how many people got out of my way.

I'll see if the boss will let me shave it first before trying something more expensive.
Will angle it that a family holiday could be paid for instead of a hair transplant to try and sway the decision. And don't pretend that any of you wouldn't have to check with the other half too 😆

Mine panicked when I accidentally shaved my beard off!
My hair is a mess at the moment. Some years ago, I was encouraged (by my wife) to go to a proper barbers in London, after the local Sweeny Todds proved somewhat unreliable. I can now no longer go anywhere else, but given I don't go into the office much, it's been about 3 months since my last cut. Now sporting something close to a mullet and big, wavy 90s curtains.
(Appreciate this may not be the thread, but was here anyway, so suck it up!)

I would just let yourself go bald. Whenever we try to fight the natural process of ageing, we're only kidding ourselves.
/bald and proud
I say proud. I hide under a hat whenever I can because I fucking hate the fact that I'm bald.
So actually ignore me.
Get the fucking hair transplant!
I'm going to go down the DIY route. Too much hair on my shoulders so a quick swap-me-do with that and I should look tip top.

I've got a luscious mane growing at the moment that keeps getting in my face. It's from my dad's side as he kept his thick hair to the end, and must have beaten out the genes from my mum's side where all the men lost their hair at 35.
Thing is now I have to look after it and condition it properly otherwise it looks stupid.

Mrs Mercury has been on alert for about a decade as it's steadily thinning on top, at some point I suppose in about five years I'll have to go for the skinhead look, I did shave it all off once at the barbers about five years ago, it was not a good look and I have a bit of a pointy head and Mrs Mercury was horrified as she had no idea I was going to do it but it is what it is, I can't be doing looking like a balding twat and even if I had the money there's about a hundred more useful things to spend hair transplant money.

Here's where I open up - it's an emo week, it seems.
Years ago, in my teens, I grew my hair long. Like, "do you like Metallica?" long. My prim and proper boy's school tried in vain to get me to cut it but baby geefe was a rebel without a cause.
Of course, it may have been due to the shame and bullying I got got for my hearing aids. For years I was self conscious until the lovely Last Leg lot came on telly. So I gradually shortened my hair until I was a proud skinhead.
I've started growing it again, mostly because you can do more with it but there's definitely a thinning patch at the crown. My barber noticed it. I was initially horrified, as I was only about 33 when I noticed but a bit of rosemary oil can thicken it out.
I've no longer got the fear of going bald though, really. Just looks uneven if you have a longer mop.

The constant bleaching and blue dye with mine can't be doing it any good.

I do think the endless bleaching and dyeing in my younger years contributed to my hair loss tbh. Maybe not but if anything it was cosmic karma for the abuse I subjected it to. I remember at one point leaving bleach on my hair so long that when it was done it was pure white. Fucking brilliant thinks I, and run my hand through it, only for my hair to turn to dust and crumble away. Whoops.

You baldies can console yourselves that male pattern baldness is apparently mostly down to high levels of testosterone.

I want to be in team cubby and dogbot. I've been considering growing mine into a proper mane, but always get to a little over a month after a haircut and get fed up with it.
If there wasn't that interim period of having shit looking unmanageable hair, it'd be shoulder length by now.

Nope, it sucks for ages and your partner will say how stupid it looks, your mum will constantly tell you to get a haircut. But it will pay off when you're having to swipe hair out of your eyes for the twelfth time that hour.

If any of you are on the fence, just fucking shave it off. You haven't got to go straight to bald, just buzz it into a stubble if you want. And guess what, if it really does look terrible (which it won't) it will grow back.
And don't rely on other people to tell you that it's time. I asked several loved ones, multiple times, and wanted an honest answer, and they told me I was fine. Then when I just appeared one day with a shaved head I got nothing but "it looks so much better".
Genuinely one of the best decisions I ever made. All anxiety around it has gone.

Mine’s getting pretty long. I might be near the year mark since I’ve last shaved it off. Some days I love it, others I hate. It’d be a shame to trim it now since I’ve let it grow for this long, and I’m still not quite at my sexy older Keanu length I was going for. It’s more midlife crisis Jason Bateman atm.

If this thread is splitting forum users into human cue balls on one side, and walking Timotei adverts on the other, I'm closer to the latter camp than the former - I have a full head of hair (sorry, mikeck!), but I prefer to keep it short. I live in fear of going bald, 'cause I think I'd look bloody awful with either the George Costanza look or a shaved dome. I'd prefer the shaved-all-over approach, if push came to shove, but I'm pretty sure my head's completely the wrong shape for it - less 'Timothy Olyphant in Hitman', more 'Easter Island head sprouted legs and went walkabout').

I might see how I go with salt spray to manage style and growth at the front and hair fibres at the back (they cling to the hair and help disguise the thinning) just whilst I try growing my hair and see how I get on.
If I don't feel happy with that then I think I'll just buzz it, as many have said it will grow back if it looks terrible.

Skin fade and hot towel shave every 3 weeks for me. Long on top. Think I like short on the back and sides because when I was little my mum and dad liked me having reallyvlong hair and I hated it.
